• How to make scrds auto update
    4 replies, posted
I run scrds on a spare computer i don't usually use, and i was wondering if there was a way for me to auto update it for when i am not around, or some other way to update it without being at the actual computer.
Anyone?

Restart requests are sent out for mandatory updates, which make the server reboot when the maps change to apply the update (provided you have -autoupdate in your launch properties), so you shouldn't need to worry.
I'm actually using this nifty tool: http://forums.srcds.com/viewtopic/16628 You can upgrade stuff on the fly and restart your servers right away. The tool I mentioned requires a fresh install of sourcemod on your server, it's mandatory, not optional. So look into sourcemod install first. -- Check it out, read some documentation about it (how to set it up). There's also an old sourcemod plugin to do it, but it's not working anymore, with all these tf2 updates (source core wise).
