Remember quickstabbing? Well they patched it... but as of this update it's now been able to be executed again. I have tested this on at least 5 subjects including a moving heavy, a pyro, and remember the move OMFGNinja pulled off where he jumped from a high place and stabbed midair and took down a fucker below?
Well I was able to pull that off too.
It's so exciting to see an old glitch back I think it's here to stay because the kill icon isn't critted anymore it's just like a non crit backstab
Please elaborate on this "quickstabbing" maneuver.

this'll show some quick stabs they have no backstab animation it looks like you facestab one's back and kill them in 1 hit.
So wait, it's something like beginning a normal stab but moving into backstab range before it finishes, thus preventing the longer backstab animation from being used?

I don't think this is actually true. Due to all the crit-alteration in this update, it has broken the 'backstab' animation but the actual mechanics behind it remain the same. I have been a Spy for quite awhile, and I havn't noticed a change in the backstabbing technique at all.
I dropped down from a rooftop on Mannor, and I landed and swung my knife.
I also swung my knife another time in another area, and got burned by the pyro, but swung and sliced him IN THE SHOULDER.
So this works by you swinging the knife out of range and walking into their back?
Valve boosted the speed of backstab so it doesn't matter if you quickstab or not.
Unless your garbled gibberish OP means that they brought back the slow as shit stab animation.

Also amusing that this has come back, but I'm guessing they might patch it again or just say "fuck it".
The spy's backstabbing is a mess anyway, facestabbing has became more common since the mann update.
I swear to god you're all crazy, valve jacked up the backstab speed.

Well I tested this again today, and I could not pull it off.

protip getting a backstab as a spy is worth 2 points cause you get a point for backstab as well so remove 33 points from your score to get the real score.
