I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this issue, but I've looked around and I'm not seeing any other threads like this.
I play tf2 on a medium power Macbook Pro with 4 gigs RAM and a 2.66 Ghz Intel processor. I've used a windows XP boot in the past to play tf2, and with the release of TF2 for the macintosh OS, I've been playing it there.
Currently, my mac version of tf2 has such horrible fps lag that not only is everything jumpy, but no sound plays from the game. It is unusable. Before the halloween update, I've been running it windowed at a large resolution and with medium to high graphics. With this update, not even with all graphics at the lowest settings is it playable.
Now, thinking that I could just wait the storm out with my windows boot, I switch over to find that somehow it was uninstalled, and after trying and trying, I can't install it. I've deleted the entire folder tf2 was in, changed servers from the Eastern coast of the US to Sweden, and applied the Beta version of steam for windows (and unapplied). No matter what I do, I can't get it to begin downloading.
Tell me, please, how do I get access to my game again?

I can use my computer and modify it to some extent, but I don't understand what you're talking about. A quick google search revealed nothing.

Hey, thats my thread :D! I'll see what I can do to help about your problem. Does any pop-up come up when you clicked "install"?
Try the XP boot again?
Edit: nevermind, didn't read right.
Bootcamp?

I prefer my hard drive in PAL, thanks.
Seriously though, reformat, reinstall, genius bar. We're mainly PC gamers here, and they sometimes know what they're doing.

That you defended, and also fixed wrong...
Well I dont have the same problem as OP, but my problem is that I can nolonger play TF2 because ive simply played it too much over the last couple of days... Getting pretty tired of the Halloween update.
A reformat of my windows partition has worked, I'm hoping it'll run like before, but what about the massive drop in fps on the mac side? I hit the 100s in 2fort, now I barely break 20.
