You're a spy. Standing at the top of a flight of stairs. Someone runs up those stairs. You stairstab. Simple.
Now, shrink that flight of stairs to a bump in the road or a prop. Someone is running at you. You leap...turn...and miss. And die.
This happens a lot for me. In theory, jumping ANY elevation can get you over the heads someone else, allowing you to stab them, but when I try it on very low elevations, I screw up.
Is it either a mental thing or the enemy runs at an angle, or what?
Also, when standing on props people don't tend to W+M1 at you like they do on stairs.
I never really attempt to rampstab. I pull out the revolver and pump lead in my enemy if they start chasing me, instead of finding the next inclined plane.
Try a flickstab instead if at all possible. If you do have to do a jumpstab crouch just as you're about to land on their head, turn and stab.
Well just don't think "oh hell I need to do a stairstab Ill pay attention for stairs ill go on them and stairstab I need to do it" , play normally and do it when you have the chance.
To prevent from missing those chances you can practice, tr_walkaway is actually pretty good for it.
