yes it counts, and yes you will lose the ticket, valve sorta fixed that to somewhat prevent folks who joined JUST as the people beat the last round.

The secret strategy for having a cheap, authentic MVM experience is to beat 5 of the 6.
Then only play the ones you've already completed, your tickets won't be consumed for missions you've completed.
If you want items, just leech off of people's vouchers!
