They benchmarked it, and it doesn't improve FPS because the game slows down when using mods.
why are people rating this dumb? he created something for you guys to use and he gets shit on.

You'll want to either use the steampipe beta or wait until the 30th for TF2 to update to it for the oldschool pack, quake textures and hat removal though. As it is, the normal assets are loaded alongside the custom ones, negating or even worsening performance.
