Dunno if that's the best you're gonna get from the game, but i think that will pretty max out all settings for you
mat_picmip no longer works like that FYI

Really? I've been using it.
Really? I've been using it.
It can no longer be set to -10.

Oh what does it have to be for it to work?
Oh what does it have to be for it to work?
According to console
"mat_picmip" = "-1" ( def. "0" ) min. -1.000000 max. 4.000000
Which means -1(Very High) is highest one. There is no point of using that command anymore.

Why this when you already have vsync turned on?
In fact, if it wasn't for vsync, this would be an extremely evil thing to do to people with 60Hz monitors. Not to mention that not all people have 60Hz refresh rates.
VSync gives mouse lag, I wouldn't enable it unless you already play like shit.
VSync will save you screen tearing problems but sacrifices a lot of fps even on godlike configs so I don't really know if it's worth it to be honest
VSync gives mouse lag, I wouldn't enable it unless you already play like shit.
I haven't noticed any mouse input lag using VSync. At least I don't get horrendous screen tearing with it on, that would piss me off more.
Take this beast of a config on a test drive

Did you know something, i was looking for that
Screenshots or video please?
I don't like FPS configs because I don't want to screw up my game messing with commands I don't know.

Then all you have to do is just delete whats inside the Autoexec

Not necessaarily. In some cases you need to have an anti-config as some of the settings in the config are saved in the Steam Cloud.

No, It's Crysis
No, It's Crysis
Sorry I thought it was live action.
Wow installed that shitgay config, just makes everything take longer to start up, is brighter than it should be (can be easily fixed) and it flickers while it's loading the menu
Doesn't look any better at all :|
edit: Something about the pre load commands seems to breaking a few strings too. %nemesisname, %A, etc

It's pain to play with vsync on because of the mouse lag
Not necessaarily. In some cases you need to have an anti-config as some of the settings in the config are saved in the Steam Cloud.
-autoconfig in launch options. Problem solved.
If I enabled configs like this my pc would have a stroke.

What's screen tearing?
I've never seen it.
VSync will save you screen tearing problems but sacrifices a lot of fps even on godlike configs so I don't really know if it's worth it to be honest
it halvens you fps because it has to render each frame twice
it halvens you fps because it has to render each frame twice
It actually attempts to synchronize your FPS to your monitors refresh rate, which attempts to make the game refresh each frame at the same time that your monitor refreshes the screen, I never use it though, because it causes huge fucking mouse lag.
it halvens you fps because it has to render each frame twice
Wrong. What you just described is known as "3-D".
V-Sync simply synchronizes your video card with your monitor so that it's giving the monitor a frame to display every time the screen refreshes. If it can't handle rendering frames as fast as your monitor refreshes, it renders frames at half or your refresh rate, and then one third of it, and then a fourth, and so on, to stay in sync.
Dang it. Rate me late.

Time for my obligatory evaluation of the config.

Unless you've got mat_dxlevel set to 90, these are already set by default.

cl_detailfade 0

I've been over this multiple times; this reduces quality. This is the distance at which details fade. If you set this to 0, details fade at any distance.

mat_bloom_scalefactor_scalar 2

Care to explain what this command does? I haven't heard of it before.

What's with the "s" after the 100?

mat_queue_mode 2

This is also kinda pointless, because setting it to -1 should do exactly the same thing.
What I don't get is that, whenever I post a config, someone always has to come along and rip it to shreds. But whenever anyone else posts a config, no matter how much worse than mine it is (no offence, gmodfan423), everyone is just perfectly okay with it.
