How do I buy an item? Clicking the “Buy Now” button on any listing will start the purchase process. Please note that all purchases are final. How can I reverse or cancel a completed Community Market transaction and/or get a refund? All purchases are final – you will not have any right to a refund or a reversal of any Community Market transaction once it is completed. Which items are eligible to be bought and sold on the Community Market? For the initial launch, the Market will be limited Team Fortress 2 consumables and tools, including paints, keys, and crates. Your eligible items are marked as “Marketable” in your Steam Inventory. After the beta, we may expand to include additional items from Team Fortress 2 as well as items from other games. Why are some of my items not eligible? Items purchased from the TF2 Store may take up to three days before they are eligible for trading or sale in the Community Market. Depending on how recently you began making purchases, these items may not initially appear eligible. Who is eligible to participate in the Community Market? Any Steam user who has a successful purchase on their account between 30 days and one year ago, and has Steam Guard enabled for 15 days can list items on the Community Market. If you have had your password reset by Steam Support you will need to wait another 15 days with Steam Guard enabled before you can list items on the Community Market. Why is Steam Guard required? We require Steam Guard to be enabled for 15 days to help protect your items and Steam Wallet funds from being misused by somebody who may have illicitly obtained your password. How do I add funds to my Steam Wallet? Check out the Wallet Funds FAQ here. Steam Wallet Funds can be added from your Account Details page in the Store. Why don't I see all of my items when I try to sell something? When selecting an item to sell on the Community Market, only items that are eligible to be sold will be visible and selectable. How do I remove a listing? All of your current listings are shown at the top of the Community Market home page. Any listing can be canceled/removed before it is purchased by clicking the "Remove" button. What is the “Steam Transaction Fee”? The Steam Transaction Fee is collected by Steam and is used to protect against nominal fraud incidents and cover the cost of development of this and future Steam economy features. The fee will be 5% during the beta period (with a minimum fee of $0.01). This fee may be increased or decreased in the future. Who pays the "Steam Transaction Fee"? The buyer pays the Steam Transaction Fee. The Steam Transaction Fee is calculated based on the item cost and is shown on the confirmation page before purchase. What is the “Team Fortress 2 Fee”? The Team Fortress 2 Fee is a game specific fee that is determined and collected by the game publisher. The Team Fortress 2 Fee is currently set at 10%. What kind of Steam Wallet and item listing restrictions apply? Currently we are restricting Steam Wallet balances to $200. As a result, you will be restricted from listing items for sale in the Community Market if the existing balance in your Steam Wallet, plus the sale price of the item(s), would together exceed the $200 limit. We may be raising the Steam Wallet balance limit, or otherwise changing this restriction, in the future. Note that, if you have multiple accounts, balances for all Steam Wallets associated with all of your accounts will be aggregated for purposes of applying this limit. Is there a limit on the number of transactions I can participate in in the Community Market? During the beta period we will impose a limit of 200 sales per calendar year starting January 1, 2013. Do I have any obligation to collect or pay sales, VAT, or other transaction taxes based on transactions I engage in in the Community Market? Different countries have different rules relating to the taxation of digital transactions. Most jurisdictions do not require individuals to register for, collect or pay sales, VAT or use taxes in connection with occasional sales where they do not qualify as “professional” sellers. However, the ultimate responsibility for determining any tax requirements that may apply to sales you make in the Community Market rests with you, and so if you are concerned about the issue you should consult your own tax advisor. Note that, with respect to our administrative fee, if any sales, VAT, or other taxes are due on that payment, we will be responsible for paying those taxes. Are there minimum or maximum sales prices for items in the Community Market? Currently there is no minimum sales price, although we may decide to impose a minimum price in the future. Currently, the maximum sales price for any particular item is $200. How are cross-currency transactions handled in the Community Market? Sellers will always list items for sale in the native currency of their Steam Wallet, and buyers will always see Community Market prices expressed in the native currency of their Steam Wallet. For items listed for sale in a different currency than the buyer’s Steam Wallet currency, we apply an exchange rate which we update daily. When will I be able to sell/buy unusual items? Throughout the beta period, we will be making changes with the hope of adding more item types in the future. Why is the Community Market limited to Team Fortress 2? We are currently limiting the number of games and the types of eligible items during the beta period in an effort to test various functions and capabilities of the Market. Where can I see my Community Market transactions? Your Community Market history is accessible from the top of the Community Market home page, as well as from your Account Details page in the Steam Store. A receipt for each transaction will also be emailed to you.
Yes, there is a thread about the blog-post, but as with the Trading Megathread, we need a concrete place that won't fade away to dump our offers. Fire away! There's already 200,000 Mann. Co supply crates for sale, tough luck selling one. The Link

What use is steam wallet? Buying games? Meh.I'll pass.
What use is steam wallet? Buying games? Meh.I'll pass.
Did you actually think valve/steam would pay you cold hard paypal/bank account cash for TF2 items? Using the steam wallet they probably avoid a whole myriad of legal things because it's all contained in one system.
What use is steam wallet? Buying games? Meh.I'll pass.
games dota items tf2 items Surely there will be more uses in the future.
bahh to compete in the crate market I guess I'll just have to drop my price to 1 cent. GREAT DEAL!
My two Crates are still sitting around. of course its because they are both $10.00 and 4.99 each because I didnt know what to price em. I really wish the Market economy wasnt "lets make sure everyone else dosent gain anything from this by putting our price at 1 to 2 cents a crate".
bahh to compete in the crate market I guess I'll just have to drop my price to 1 cent. GREAT DEAL!
You get nothing then. Lol fees pls.
You get nothing then. Lol fees pls.
Sold 4 crates in 5 mins for 1 cent.
I really wish there was a better way to search for specific crates. I've been looking for #33 for a while now, and even if you search for it you still have to sift through all of the other editions...
I wish I could use this, but since I haven't bought anything for a long time I have to wait a month.
You get nothing then. Lol fees pls.
Fee's only apply to Buyers, not sellers. If you're selling, you get it all. Buying, you pay more.
Well this is kind of a cool way to spend that 1 cent you had elftover after transferring money to your steam wallet. Nothing like getting a couple thousand crates!

I have some low level crates, like 3s and 4s, how much would be a good price for them? Fuck selling paint or keys, crates is where it's at.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is. We already had a blog post announcing the system, I can't really see this thread having any longevity. Once the initial discussion over how cool this new thing is dies down, I don't see much being left for this thread other than "hey guys I just listed x item for y dollars", which isn't exactly riveting reading, and also if the price was anything important (aka a large discount) you could just see it on the marketplace anyway.

It's early days but it looks like the naughty crates are a favourite again this year.

The Nice crates contain items that you can buy from the store directly once the event passes.
Why do I always find people getting good deals at recently sold yet I can't find them at newly listed no matter how much I refresh the page.
Why do I always find people getting good deals at recently sold yet I can't find them at newly listed no matter how much I refresh the page.
Some people have been abusing a script so that they will get deals that show up below a threshold automatically. Expect to see a captcha on the market sometime as a way to snuff that script out.
This year's festives will in no way be as expensive as last year's. People know how expensive last year's festives were, and as such will try to get as many as possible this year, and they'll be quite common I reckon.
