TF2 SRCDS fails to connect to Steam's servers using Hamachi
7 replies, posted
Before it was a problem about hamachi, now it is a new problem.
I can no longer use any commands like fakeach, refresh and others, and I'm pretty sure no one else could either. My admin list in the simple ini is untouched, and I've refreshed the admin several time.
Also, it's not connecting to the item server. Does Hamachi do that?
Please help ASAP.
Call your ISP if you got the router from them, they probably changed it.

To be presice, I have no idea. We're using Cox Communications and it's a Linksys WRT54GS.

Default user name and password is exactly this:
user name = Admin
password = Password
its case sensitive, so try with and without first letter caps
also you have the wrong ip if you are trying to play locally.
Im pretty sure you cannot assign srcds an ip with with the switch -ip, so remove that string. srcds will automatically assume the native ip on your pc.
For the linksys you want the clients to connect to 192.168.1.100 (if cable), 192.168.1.1 (if DSL).
Note ~ the last digit(s) will change if you have other devices connected to the router before the pc with srcds running.
keep in mind when connecting locally all the clients are connecting through the ip on the router, not the pc / server host.
This is why the last digit(s) changes if there are other devices connected to the router, the router automatically assigns a number to each of the devices connected to the local network.
To find what the generic ip that the clients should connect through, launch srcds, and find the first ip listed.
It will be either of the two above with the last digit(s) the same or different.

You don't seem to understand me: We've changed the password and cannot remember the password. I have no idea if the ISP gave us a WRT54GS, and that is my Hamachi IP.
Bump. Also, for anyone who doesn't know yet: I'm trying to host on HAMACHI, but it doesn't connect to the Steam servers and won't allow anyone to connect because it acts as it isn't up.
bump again.
Bump again, sorry for overbumping. Does ANYONE have a answer? :C

I have solved the problem on how to use SRCDS with hamachi! You must add -ip [IP for Hamachi here] to your startup in order to connect! This will not allow you to connect to other servers, but you can delete it when you don't need to use it!
EDIT: I have run into a new problem. SRCDS no longer recognizes me as a admin, which makes it so I cannot use admin commands/other things. Also, I can't connect to the item server. Help?
