Automatically Generated Blacklist of All Known Pinion Servers - Games

Someone recommended that I cross-post this [url="http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3091767"]from SPUF[/url], so here goes. I'm sick and tired of seeing people whine and complain about how Pinion "gives them viruses", "violates their rights", or how they're "entitled to play on private servers ad-free". So here, [url="http://www.doctormckay.com/pinionblacklist/"]here's an automatically-generated server_blacklist.txt file[/url] that's automatically updated every day at noon and contains all known Pinion servers. There's also an option for a blacklist file that contains all known Pinion servers + Saigns + NighTeam servers. So please, use this and stop whining. kthxbai

FYI, servers that pop up ads in the middle of gameplay violate Pinion's terms of service, and you should report them at [url="http://www.pinion.gg"]pinion.gg[/url].

I'm tired of playing MVM and being forced onto a server that makes you wait 30 seconds to watch an ad before you play. I've added Pinion to my hosts file so I never see the ads, but I still have to wait, and it's really dumb. At one point an ad popped up in the middle of a match once we lost a wave, which just made everyone leave. My question is, does the boot camp matchmaking abide by your blacklist settings? Will it put me into a blacklisted server, or will it chose another, or worse will it just kick me out once it chooses one?

Best 250 post ever :cheapconfetti:[/QUOTE] The worst offender of mid-game ads I've ever seen was one that forced you to watch one if your respawn time is longer than 10 seconds, but that's not the worst... During humiliation, all non-donators are frozen and completely immobilized with instant respawn toggled on them as the MOTD ad pops up again, meaning the donators are safe, and can get huge amounts of free kills while everyone else has to wait for the stupid fucking ad to go away when the next round starts. And their argument is, predictably "Well buy donator then, stupid whiner :)"

Now all we need is a blacklist with all servers using sv_pure 1/2 and we can say it's perfect :v:

I found a nice little server a while back and asked why they had sv_pure on, and they just turned it off.

I'm the one who suggested he post it here :smile: I also like how on the same page where you download the Pinion blacklist, there is a version of it that has Pinion servers + Saigns + NighTeam servers (just to make sure to wipe out all the cancers)

Before this blacklist helper, I used to connect to the hellgamers uk trading servers, to pwn some noobs while trading. When the whole pinion crap started, my TF2 crashed everytime I joined, and I could see the console message, saying their servers used an older version of pinion, thus... Also, if you have Kaspersky, like I have, it will actually block the whole motd ad and even crash your hl2.exe :D Good times!

Wonderful, considering more and more pinion servers simply crash me.

Besides, if sv_pure is conflicting with custom skins or something, you can often ask the server's owner to whitelist the files you need.
