I've tried the registry modification that I seem to come up with when I search this on Google, I try increasing the size of the page file, yet I keep crashing.
My computer, although in desperate need of an upgrade, more than exceeds the requirements for every Valve game. What are some other ways to fix this (I'm saving for an upgrade, so this is only temporary.)
(My graphics drivers are up to date, and I'm not running an antivirus in the background. Only my drivers and Steam.)

although your computer can exceed the requirements, it doesn't mean you don't need an upgrade
it can exceed the game requirements, but can it process all the players?

I assume it can, as I have not had problems on servers. (Also, it crashes on l4d, but not as hard or as bad.)
How much RAM do you have, and what OS are you on?
