It really pisses me off. Every time I log on and change the password, my parents threaten to ban me from the game until I give in and tell my 12 year old brother what it is again. They feel it's so unfair that I can play and he can't, even though the game is rated M and everyone hates twelve year olds, especially when they use microphones. He saw a tutorial on the web on how to noclip and fucked with the files in the team fortress folder, he crafted all the items he thinks are useless (as in he can't use them well, i.e. the huntsman) into HATS, and I can't stop him. Being a little kid, telling him not to do things makes him defiant, or he tantrums and threatens to intentionally get me banned (the cause of my first password change). What's more, he spends all of his time on an all-crits Mario Kart server. He has to have everything that I have, and I lose everything that he fucks up.
Is there any magical steam feature I haven't heard of that might divide the game's user-specific content between two people using the same account?
Just stop giving in.
What are you; a girl? Man up.
Oh my fucking God I'd rage so hard if someone crafted my huntsman.
This is absolute bullshit there, my friend.
They wont let you play a violent video game unless you let your 12 year old brother play it
Tell your parents to fuck off
What is this
If I were you I'd tell your parents that you keep finding that he changes things around that could get you banned permanantly and then their money would be wasted. Say you're afraid that he may change something and it'll be too late to change it and you'll be banned.
Of course this doesn't have to be true. When he denies it it'll be oubvious that he's just saying he's not so he can keep playing.
Sacrifice your brother to Chet.
Make a new account for him, tell your parents that he now has his own account to play on. Have your lolz as he realizes that there are no games and makes sadface.
But seriously I don't know of any way to do that, your best bet is to try to convince yours parents he is screwin your account up and you won't even be able to play anymore if he keeps it up.
Buy him his own copy when its on sale.
Buy him a copy for a holiday. Then he'll be off your back and you don't have to worry about getting him a gift because you got him an inexpensive one that benefits you as well.

I've told them that. Their response was "stop shouting."
Tell your parents to have him buy his own copy and his own account.
You're gonna have to sacrifice a day or two of no gaming. Change the password, don't give in to your parents, tell your parents he's wasting away your hard earned items, go waste time doing something else. If all else fails, beat some sense into your little brother.
Tell your parents to fuck off
1. Buy him the game.
or
2. Tell him to fuck off.
or
3. Do both 1 and 2.
Is there any magical steam feature I haven't heard of that might divide the game's user-specific content between two people using the same account?
Nope. In fact, it's against the Terms of Service to share a Steam account between people. Also according to the ToS, you are responsible for anything he does while on your account, so you better hope he isn't getting into any "hacks".
The only thing you can do is start a new account and buy the game again, either for yourself or for your brother (though in my experience with siblings he'd probably resort to whining about having to start over again).
Though if you wanted to be extreme about it and were willing to waste an account, you could always get the account VAC-banned and blame it on your brother. :v:
Make his own steam account then buy the game for him
then change your password

this
Scratch that.
1. Back everything up.
2. Get a virus.
3. Let the virus fuck everything up.
4. Blame it on him.
5. Restore it and continue playing. :smug:
Guys, stop telling him to tell his brother/parents to fuck off.
He oubviously can't do that because he'd be grouded/banned from the computer alltogether.
It's not that fucking simple.

Uh-oh, me and my sister share an account....
:tinfoil:
I've told them that. Their response was "stop shouting."
Then tell them calmly. They didn't listen to you because you sounded like a whiny bitch. Not to say you were one, but you sounded like one.

Best advice so far.

haha you so funny
Try to get your parents to see it from your point of view. Try the same thing on your brother, though I doubt it'd work. Otherwise...I really don't know.
Uh-oh, me and my sister share an account....

They only put that in there to prevent people from lying and saying "please reactivate my account it was my brother." You only have to worry about it if you get banned.
Burn his house down.
Your family really sucks.
Don't give in to the bullshit. If possible, you can explain WHY it's a problem that you're forced to lend him the account, but I don't expect them to understand.
Prove that you're more patient then them and they might give in.
Besides that, you could just give in and buy TF2 for his own account to get him off your back, but making any concession to your brother would probably be more than the little runt deserves.
Just stop giving in.

Oh be quiet. I am 100% sure NOBODY would just go against their parents like that. PUNISHMENT is a real thing.
