Do you assume players with hats = expert of that class

I dunno if it's just me. If I see a player walking around and he has a hat for that class, I immediately assume he's very good with the class. Even though hat drops are completely random and have nothing to do with skill, I can't shake this.
No. Never. Hats never equal skill.
All it signifies is that the person was lucky to get a hat drop.
Same. It's because they are so rare.
No since hats are allocated randomly to a random class
If a pyro player gets a sniper hat it doesn't mean he's a good sniper.
Hats make you feel more confident and wearing them makes the poor and Irish rage at you. Which means you only seem a lot better player.
tl:dr --> It's just an illusion, guys!
Soldier at top of leader board is not worth healing if there's a Soldier with a hat.
EDIT: I don't see how this is funny. You should be ashamed of me.
EDIT2: STOP LAUGHING.
Yeah, they are better because they have a hat that does nothing :downs:
Somewhat, but I go off this train of thought
Guy gets a hat, he starts to play that class alot so he can show the hat off, he's getting better as he shows of to the point he's pretty good at that class.
That's how I see it anyway
On the other side of the coin I admit if I see you wearing a gibus I assume you're a idiot and ignore you for the most part
I actually crafted a scout hat (4 refined metals + Scout token), so in my case it is my best class. Not all hats are random.
Yes, but only with Snipers, Medics, and Spies because their hats look extremely professional and fitting.
I don't have any nice hats for the classes i play most :(
The way I see it: A player who plays more has better chances of getting an hat. Normally, the more you play the better you are. So if a player has a hat, its likely that he played for a long time, and as a result, is a skilled player.
I've never even heard of this, why would you assume them to be better at the class because of the hat.

I guess it's true
In a way yes
People tend to try to make hats for their favourite/best classes
My two best classes are Heavy and Scout, and I have a hat for each which entices me to use them more

I've been playing for two years and have almost no hats.
I used to but now they're not as rare and almost everyone has at least a hat.
I've never even heard of this, why would you assume them to be better at the class because of the hat.

The way I see it: A player who plays more has better chances of getting an hat. In my caes you'd be somewhat correct.
I'm a damn good pyro and I worked hard for my slug.
I've had the worst luck for drops either weapons or hats so it was a very good day when I finally got my little hat.
I also met a pyro with the same loadout as me (airblast shotgun homewrecker slug) and he was just like me. We played pyrotennis from battlement to battlement.
I don't think this at all
Mainly because the first 2 random drop hats I got were mining lights and I never ever play as engineer
Kind of...
It could mean they've played the game for a long time to get that hat, so they'd be good because they have a bucket full of experience.
Bad reading to all of the above.
Yes, for some odd reason i think that people with hats are experts at the class.
People with 2 or more hats for 1 class are gods.
And i also assume people that wear the gibbus or the halo are tards, or that they are new to the game.
My only non-event hats are for Spy and Sniper whom I hate playing, so no.
Any soldier with the Killer's Kabuto frightens me

Not all hats, but Tyrants Helm, Ushanka etc are scary. Pothead soldiers and cambeard spies etc are not.

If you have an overrated hat you are scary? woah.
From what I've seen, generally people with hats are better at the class wearing it. But I've also seen people with hats who are pretty bad at the class. It doesn't matter either way though, hats aren't a sign of skill.

It's overrated because it looks the best :downs:
