• Mic doesn't work in TF2 on OSX
    14 replies, posted
I've played TF2 for a long time under boot camp, and the built-in microphone worked fine, but running natively in OSX, the same microphone doesn't work. Can any mac users confirm this?
Does it work in Steam?
Does it work in Steam?
Yes, it works in Steam, but when I run a microphone test in TF2, there's no response.
Did you bind the key correctly? Does it say unable to initialize DirectSoundCapture in console?
I saw somewhere it's not working on OSX atm. On SPUF a lot of people have problems with the in-built ones or w/e. EDIT: What about this? Everything working fine here.

How is mine dumb? Mac's are not built to game, maybe Jobs should get on his knees and beg M$ for DirectX. On another note, when i spend $2200 on a monitor, i expect it to be like 100 inch, or made of hookers and gold. Or at-least let me buy new parts that Jobs hasn't personally pissed on.
I know that as a mac user I have to get used to putting up with all this, but I think that it's quite ironic that mac users are the ones always labeled as elitists. In the meantime, please GTFO if you aren't even trying to help.
Same buddy! :buddy: Boot camp totally not sensing my built-in's. No headphones, either. I am fully updated too!

Did you check the key settings
I use key Bind X but I havent seen this problem. does the icon pop up? also, tip: for one button mouse pads, change secondary fire to ALT.
I have a similiar issue with my Mac. I'm using all my PC plugins though, like my mouse and headset, but the issue is that on Steam, the microphone test shows my mic works, and on the TF2 menu, I can hera myself on the Mic test, but as soon as I join a game, my mic stops working.
