We already know the names of the Soldier, Demoman, and Engineer.
So what do you think the other six mercs' names are?
Doesn't the Heavy reveal his name in Poker Night?
Let me go see if I can find it.

Nevermind, he doesn't.
Ivan.
We do? What are the names of the demo, engi and soldier?
Soldier is Jane Doe, Engineer is Dell and I think demo is Degroot Tavish.

his uncle is hobo
Scout - Bill
Sniper - Rick
Dell's a legit name
[editline]27th November 2010[/editline]
Stands for Dellmond i think
Pyro - Cthulhu
Scout - William "Baseball Bill" Overbeck
Sniper - Richard "Ritzy Rick" Darwin
Heavy - Ivan "Ivan" Ivanov
I don't know if we can go by hatless names for their names, it might just be a hair style. "Texas Slim" sounds like some brand name, I donno.
I always assumed "Ritzy Rick" was the name of the hair-do, rather than the Sniper.
I also think that if Valve would release their names (assuming they named them), they won't be so based on stereotypes as people think (Ivan, etc... Jane Doe being an exception (sort of, it's supposed to be John Doe if it's an anonymous man)).
The sniper is Bruce or Rick

Heavy - Ivan "Ivanovich" Ivanov
Ivanovich fits better.
Sniper is Bruce.
Because AUSTRALIA

Bruce, because everyone in Australia is named Bruce. Unless it's an English guy, but he gets named Bruce soon enough too.

I always figured (i.e. my headcanon) Soldier's mother just really wanted a girl but could never have one, so she named her son a girl's name. The fact that his name is also used as a placeholder for nameless people, I figured, was just meant to be a humorous coincidence.
Besides, if he was given that name simply because no one knew what his real name was, why wouldn't it have been John Doe? Unless he named himself that, and given his mental state it wouldn't surprise me if he mixed up "John" and "Jane".

In the WAR comic his mailbox says "Jane Doe" who knows Jane could be his wife.
mister Jane Doe

As xpod just pointed out, his door says "Mister Jane Doe". Though of course there's still doubt whether or not that's his real name or if he just calls himself that.
But for now I'll just assume it's his name, since it's not like we have anything else to go by.

I'm totally for the Scout being named William.
Jacques Chirac :france:
Now take a look at Soldier domination lines for Sniper:

If it's a reference to Sniper's name, we can assume his last name starts with 'B' and ends with 's'. It'd also confirm his name being Bruce, cause nothing seems to fit more
Souts name is Vincent, also known as Vince..

Please tell me this is a joke/satire and you actually get that those're LotR references.
