I am making this thread to ask a stupid question...
i heard that if you idle, you get items, correct?
am i only semi correct?

Why would people idle if it didn't get them items?
Idling is boring.
You gain items, but only at the same rate as someone playing normally. Valve tweaked the item system to make idling for long periods of time pointless.

He means after you idle for about 10 hours you don't get anymore items for the rest of the week until the cap resets around wednesday night/thursday morning (bst).
Ok i will not idle then...
Stop making threads.
why. why should i stop making threads. how did you get that many posts maurice? lemme guess, it only counts the posts, not threads...
thing is, i can make threads whenever... and someone has to make threads!!! its not like the website will crash if i keep making threads...
At least learn English and grammar before you post.
Why would people idle if it didn't get them items?
I like to keep my TF2 warm for when I get back to it after a long evening of pornography.

WHY! why do i need to learn grammar before i start posting! Is this like a thing you people do where you go to the newbies and start saying stuff like, "stop making threads" and see if they dont go haywire and quit the forums!
WHY! why do i need to learn grammar before i start posting!
It makes your posts easily readable, and generally makes you seem more intelligent.
-snip-
Good grammar makes it easier to read your posts/threads.

No, this is a thing where we don't want you because the way you post. :frog:
I'll give you a box, so you can keep your idling items inside.
IMO idling is bad and kind of cheating, kids.
Edit: Actually, back in the old times I had about 100 posts during my first year on FP. Back then you could be banned for everything, also smartness existed....

"Stop making threads" isn't "leave forever". It means "lurk more and read other threads a lot before you go posting your own". I registered in '05, but barely posted anything for literal years. After learning the way FP works, I was able to start posting with a higher quality than I would have if I had just hopped right in.
actually snip.

If idling was cheating, VALVe would have made the drop system the way it is today from the start.

I said "IMO". I think it is a kind of cheating, but let's not derail this magnificent thread! :v:
Idling is boring.
You aren't supposed to stare at the screen while idling
If idling was cheating, VALVe would have made the drop system the way it is today from the start.
Or maybe they made it as it is right now because it was cheating?

No, we do this when newbies start making a lot of shit threads.
A bit of a new guy myself, so I just want to ask this - What does -Snip- mean?
why. why should i stop making threads. how did you get that many posts maurice? lemme guess, it only counts the posts, not threads...

it's that you're pushing the worthy and good threads down, with something you could easily find out with a search. The words "Idling tf2" into google would have got you what you wanted.
Also you're responding badly, meaning I can't help reading every word in a whiney voice.
and you're spamming threads which is really annoying.
Or maybe they made it as it is right now because it was cheating?
It they gave a crap it wouldn't have taken them an entire year to correct their mistake.
Holy hell, stop spamming facepunch with your useless threads/posts.
