idling to get items - Games

I am making this thread to ask a stupid question... i heard that if you idle, you get items, correct? am i only semi correct? [highlight](User was banned for this post ("Trolling or dumb" - verynicelady))[/highlight]

Why would people idle if it didn't get them items?

Idling is boring.

You gain items, but only at the same rate as someone playing normally. Valve tweaked the item system to make idling for long periods of time pointless.

why. why should i stop making threads. how did you get that many posts maurice? lemme guess, it only counts the posts, not threads... thing is, i can make threads whenever... and someone has to make threads!!! its not like the website will crash if i keep making threads...

I'll give you a box, so you can keep your idling items inside. IMO idling is bad and kind of cheating, kids. Edit: Actually, back in the old times I had about 100 posts during my first year on FP. Back then you could be banned for everything, also smartness existed....

It means "lurk more and read other threads a lot before you go posting your own". I registered in '05, but barely posted anything for literal years. After learning the way FP works, I was able to start posting with a higher quality than I would have if I had just hopped right in.
