• Improved default HUD

Hey facepunch, I'm working on modifying the default hud. I'll just copy the description off game banana because I'm lazy. I'm probably one of the few people who actually likes the default tf2 hud. I can't deny the fact that it's got many flaws but I can at least try to get rid of some of them. Instead of completely replacing the hud with a custom one I thought of changing this one by adding and replacing stuff while staying true to the original art style (or at least trying to). Either way this should be mostly meant for casual play but I'll change the minimal version of the hud completely to support competitive play, clutter free and clean. Some people might say there's rather unnecessary stuff or 'clutter' added but I personally don't mind it. To satisfy everyone though, I will create a small installer that would let you select 'features' and options so you can customize your hud. I know a bit of c++ but I will need to do some research before I can code something like that. As a sidenote if someone does know c++ and could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Are you going to make the kill feed much smaller and with more than 4 notifications max?
This looks really good, can't wait to use it. I like that everything will be optional, as there are a few things here I don't particularly like, that I imagine others will.

I'd love an alternate version that puts the health and ammo more closer to the center of the screen. Sure, it's a small niche, but I don't like glancing at corners for important information, and that's what always bothered me about the default HUD.

I've got a bit of a problem and am not sure what to choose. I combined the plr objective hud so it doesn't take as much space. Your team's cart is always on top. With how the demo charge meter is now it clips with the plr hud [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/errur_1376401561.jpg[/t] Help me choose or suggest something else. If I move it higher than the cart symbol it seems a bit too close to the center thus cluttering the main screen area. It still clips with the arrow thing. The HUD I'm using now does that, and it helps charging it without looking away.

I tried replicating ep1's ammo and health meters around the crosshair. All the meters seem to be hard coded into the client.
This looks absolutely amazing. I've always preferred stock over the custom HUDs, and this definitely is up my alley. For a while now I've been using a modified stock that I made myself. It has numerical health values on all + sign values, which are gray with neon green outlining. And all damage text is a bolded yellow. It works for what I need, but I'll probably hop onto this one as soon as you have a public release.
I might just give up frankenhud and give this a try when its realeased
Don't really have any suggestions, but this is exactly the kind of hud I'm looking for. Used Frankenhud for the longest time now, and this just seems like a vastly better version. Looking forward to the release!

Someone suggested switching the places but I think I will indeed add a fake box. About the A B C D presets, it is not possible to move them. Their position is hard coded into the client. All you can do is change the button template or disable the presets entirely. I tried adding buttons that would use console commands to change presets but that doesn't work since hud panels aren't allowed to execute console commands by the client. I just wanted to make the character bigger and ended up moving it to the side away from all the other things.

I need to test this ASAP. Could you make a prerelease? Also, can you make it so you can see enemies and teammates exact health? I like that about frankenhud.
