Does anyone know the status of the Oldschool Pack or similar project? I'm in dire need of optimization. Also, I remember there being a post/thread with a bunch of tips and configs to help. Does anyone have that link?

Bookmarked for future reference.
Quantum's config is also very good. It allows you to switch between HighFPS and HighQuality settings quickly. http://www.teamfortress2fort.com/forums/t/QuantumsLittleConfigHighFPS/QualityConfig-22287.aspx
Oh these are useful for my crappy laptop. [editline]28th December 2010[/editline] Recommend the first few though.

Oh wow, I didn't know he was still working on the Old School Pack. He never could keep it updated, though, and I don't blame him given the insane amount of hats there are to do now. If he ever manages to catch up, I'll definitely reinstall it; I'm a total sucker for old school 3D visuals.

We started on the polycount entrys and I have mostly finished all low poly viewmodel hands. Sadly there are so much updates, we arent that fast.
I made some of the hats but it just got boring, think I did some pretty good Engy builidings though (not the sentries)
That WIP looks PS1 sexy.
Fixed, as the N64 had texture smoothing.
I remember this. I believe some of the vmts were half assed though since some of melee weapons don't glow. But I can't blame them. I mean with so many frequent community updates, I find it hard for them to keep up. But while I'm ranting on suggestions aned such, I think they should at least remodel the heads so that there won't be any clipping with any future hats. That way at least the hats won't look messed up. while they're working on low poly versions of them.
I believe some of the vmts were half assed though since some of melee weapons don't glow.
As the individual who painstakingly went through all existing textures in this pack, I invite you to consume a phallic-shaped object as I know for a fact that every weapon texture I worked on (which, as of the current public release, is all of them) conforms to the standard material set, including functional phong settings with proper phong maps (adorable 64x64 phong maps, mind you) that I knew most users wouldn't even be able to see since they're likely running in DX8 if they're using this pack.
