Anti-griefing measure obviously, and it helps prevent us rushing forward with an ubered 1hp soldier and dominating everyone.
Unfortunately, if a soldier pulls out his pick, even by accident, POP goes his uber.
So even with the pick out he loses the uber instantly? I didnt know that. Thats going to suck!
@link123175: But you think of it, they could use any wep, get uber then instantly change to pick.
I think when ubered it should just negate the damage/speed bonus

But that nulifies the entire measure. It was put in for anti-griefing, AKA game trolling.
Pretty dumb when you can just go in and own them all anyways using the axe or some other op melee weapon. It's probably a glitch instead.

Okay then, that's just stupid because how the fuck will a soldier be at 1 health when being healed? It's not gonna allow them to use the pick with like 200 damage because they'd have full health. :downs:

Exactly, it's most likely a stupid mishap, maybe someone forgot it was useless at full health?
If a Medic heals the soldier, then he switches to Pick quickly and does the suicide taunt, he survives it

That's the point, so medics can't ruin it for soldiers if they want to be on low health and supafast/strong.
It's a necessary measure by Valve.
