Think of all this stuff he could afford with this money. But no, let's spend it on 200 crates instead!

I demand that he craft all the weapons he got, craft them into hats, craft those hats with the hats he unboxed, then use the end result and describe it with- "This hat cost me 498 USD"

That's why I criticise MikeV and other tools who spent so much money for bunch of pixels. You could get like goddamn TV, or PS3 or something that would certainly entertain you more than some hats.

A guy on my local trading server was unboxing 15 crates and was about to buy 15 keys. I warned him to not buy the keys as he will not get an unusual. He told me to fuck off. He bought 15 keys and used them all. His best item he got was a Cadaver's Cranium.

Chance for n crates to not contain an unusual is 0.99^n then. Chance for 200 crates to not contain an unusual is ~0.134 = 13.4% So his chance was 86.6% Seriously where did you people learn your math
