Big Fucking Glitch

I literally cannot play the game because of this... because of what? [b]The game will lock up when I type, open the console, or change classes when dead.[/b] The overlay freezes and remains on screen, but I can continue to strafe around; however, I can't aim. The chat box, class menu, and game menu can all end up stuck on the screen with no way to exit out of them or quit the game manually. I've had to shut down the game via task manager three times in the course of twenty minutes. This is just unforgivably game-breaking. :argh:

Is anyone else having this issue? If so, is there any known way to fix it?... any help would be appreciated.

(Oh, and I can't use any of my items either, but I know about that. :v:)

I had the same issue last night, it was annoying as hell.
I did find a fix for it, though.

Press F10 and when it asks you "are you are sure you want to quit?" press cancel.
It cleared up the issue for me.

And I'm sure you saw F10 and immediately thought "TROLL!" but, seriously, it fixes the problem.
Just press "cancel" instead of "quit" and it will make the menus functionable again.

Edit: It works for a while, but then it stopped. I think I'll just wait until Valve patches this; hopefully today...

Yeah, this is one of the updates with the most seriously debilitating bugs TF2 has ever done. But I'm sure all the major game/computer crashers will be repaired by the end of the day.
