What the fuck? Why would it be fun to make an unusual headgear recipe? Beats the entire purpose of crates, really (not that I wouldn't like Unusuals to rapidly drop in value, though).

You can't, because that'd require you to hack the .dlls or the .exe or something and that's a VAC offense so if you were to do it for easy items I'd say you'd flatout deserve it.
I think if you turn cheat engine on you won't get vacced when you're in the backpack.

crafting is all handled by valve's content servers as far as i'm concerned, not by the client. so, unless you're planning to drive out to one of their servers, hack it to add a single crafting recipe, drive back to your house, craft the recipe you added and hope that your request is sent to the specific server that you hacked, and then hope that you're not caught and possibly arrested just so you could have an unusual hat, then it's not gonna happen.

Exactly. It's not client side. Prior example is when Valve "turned off" the metal smelting recipe.

Stop making fun of him guys. I just used CheatEngine on TF2, and crafted my Razorback into five Unusual Max Heads. Then Valve got scared and offered me $1000 to stop. Thanks to the OP, I'm rich! CheatEngine can totally hack into the Valve servers to modify it's crafting recipes all the way there, it's 1337 haxxorz.
Yeah CheatEngine works fine, I just crafted two crates into 8 Bill's Hats and traded them for my favorite v. hats.
I just crafted 2 bills together into a vintage bills, 2 max heads into a vintage max head, and that max head with my other vintage max head into a unusual max head with sunbeams.
