This thread shall consist of rants. [b][i]It will cover arguments in favor of the weapon, against the weapon, neutral for the weapon, etc.[/i][/b] Also, none of these are my own opinions. Just the main ones I tend to see floating around. Post if want to add something. Don't post something until you read this paragraph, the last, and whatever section you're posting about. [B]Scout Unlockables:[/B] [B]The Force-A-Nature[/B] [LIST] [*]Dear God, I HATE this gun. I mean, how is it even good? A lucky Scout runs up to you and just shoots you twice. It's complete bull. I'm trying to fend off incoming shots, and he just gets behind me somehow, shooting me, then killing me. Bull. [*]I cannot stand this weapon. It just makes no sense for me. I only have two shots, and only one of them works for the self knock-back. For killing people, it doesn't do as much damage as the Scattergun. It fires more bullets than the Scattergun, but the spread ruins that. I just can't kill people with it. It's bull. [*]I can't understand how people can hate this gun. It's extremely useful. I can use it to triple-jump, so it's great for maneuvering. Also, it's great for killing. It does less damage per bullet, but fires more bullets. So it does more damage per shot! [URL="http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Force_a_nature"]Just ask TF2 Wiki![/URL] I run up to them, empty the two-shell clip onto them, and they're dead! They complain about it all the time. I don't see why. I can only kill them like that when I get real close to them. [/LIST] [B]Bonk! Energy Drink[/B] [LIST][*]Completely and utterly useless. It's only a self-uber, but in third-person, I can't shoot, and there's a slowdown afterwards. It has no use, especially for replacing the pistol.[*] This is extremely use for for tactical uses. For example, I drink Bonk!, then I rush in to distract a sentry. Right afterwards, my team destroys it. I can also use it's knock-back to get to otherwise inaccessible places. Very useful, indeed.[/LIST] [B]Sandman[/B] [LIST] [*]Where do I begin. The Scout, the class with the lowest health in the game, gets his health knocked down [i]even more[/i] with this weapon. It's horrible. And even recently, now, we have to stun AT LONG RANGE. And it can't stun Ubered Enemies, from a previous update. Completely useless.[*] I can't believe how much people complain about this weapon. Why? I have a great time using it. If it sucks so much, then why do I keep on killing you with it? You complain about the health decrease, so why can't you kill me with it? Stop complaining, and actually [i]try[/i] to kill me. [/LIST] [B]Demoman Unlockables:[/B] [B]Chargin' Targe[/B] [LIST][*]When I'm trying to shoot a Demoman from a distance, he always just rushes up at me and gets a cheap critical hit. I mean, what the freak is that?[*]I'm not using this weapon. It takes away the Sticky Grenade Launcher, and for what? The ability to charge with my melee weapon. Really? That's just ridiculous.[*]This weapon is great. Combined with The Eyelander, it's a force to be reckoned with. Sure it gets rid of my Sticky Grenade Launcher, but it's well worth chargin' to my enemy to slice their head off with a critical hit. AND I get damage resistance. Why complain about it? You just go to the side, jeez.[*]How is this weapon a problem to fight against. In fact, how is the weapon even good. It replaces the Sticky Grenade Launcher. You just have to shoot him before he gets to you. He's resistant to fire and explosive damage, not bullets.[*]I actually LIKE the Targe. People complain that it's NOTHING like how the Demoman is originally intended for. Well, that's exactly what the unlockables are for. Changing play style. The Backburner made the Pyro for ambushing. The Huntsman made his close ranged. Jarate made him credit to team. Learn to accept the unlockables for actually bringing you an unique experience. [/LIST] My extreme laziness makes that done, for now. That, and I want to know how it is. I shall add more of my own eventually. Contribute to this Rant List with your own. We don't need rants. Have a box.
You're not using them right, it's bull.
[QUOTE=AimlessGiant;19068660]You're not using them right, it's bull.[/QUOTE] The rants are just arguments for different sides of the weapons. I never said that anyone was using them right or not.
You are ranting because the weapons are not effective when used incorrectly. Ok.
Sandman: Total piece of shit. Scout is easy enough to kill as it is, and 95 health just get his little ass even whooped harder. And now, with this new nerf, it's an even more useless piece of shit. I crafted all my sandmen into scrap metal.
[QUOTE=AimlessGiant;19068708]You are ranting because the weapons are not effective when used incorrectly. Ok.[/QUOTE] [i]I[/i] am not ranting. I just added this now, but these aren't any of my beliefs. They're just other arguments. And like I said, I never said that the said situations have the weapons being used right or not. They [i]could[i/] be being used correctly, or they could be being used like a fucking moron, going crazy.
-snip- [editline]05:36AM[/editline] bad reading give me boxes, i appologise.
Gah, boxes? What's dumb about this post? The fact that it's a rant? It's a two sided argument about a few weapons, that's all. Unlike the normal ignorant one-sided arguments of hating them, this rant actually does that, AND contradict it.
Hit those who charge at you with explosives to juggle them, or just step out of the way.
I hate rants so much that Valve should nerf/stop nerfing them.
[QUOTE=awinnarisme;19068948]Hit those who [b]charge at you with explosives to juggle them[/b], or just step out of the way.[/QUOTE] Stepping out of the way, yes. But here's the thing... (I bolded them in the quote) The Chargin' Targe has a 65% resistance against explosive damage, so it might not be useful. Then again, you said "juggle" them. I don't know how the Targe affects knockback, so I can only assume there's no difference.
[QUOTE=LegndNikko;19068616] [B]Bonk! Energy Drink[/B] [LIST][*]Completely and utterly useless. It's only a self-uber, but in third-person, I can't shoot, and there's a slowdown afterwards. [QUOTE=Roflchopper;19069009]You're contradicting yourself.[/QUOTE] [Quote=LegndNikko]It will cover arguments in favor of the weapon, against the weapon, neutral for the weapon, etc.[/quote] Please, actually read the post before posting about it. The reason of this post IS to contradict.
THANK YOU! This shows how people complaining about how "overpowered" a weapon is or how "useless" a weapon is... are just idiots. The only reason why these people hate these weapons is because they are actually BALANCED! OMG!!! ThIs weapON is jUSt as good AS the OTher ONe! NOw I caN'T BE PwnzASAUras. Valve doesn't fail... It is the arguers.
You're ranting and complaining because you suck at the game? Alright. Have a box. The only thing I agree on is that the FaN is OP. [b]EDIT[/b] After actually begrudgingly reading the OP for a bit, I have confirmed that he is a gigantic troll. Posting in a troll thread, everyone.

I'M not complaining. These are just the opinions of the people who do.

[QUOTE=!xHDMicrobe;19069256]Wait a second, why do you have a thread that is nothing but just copy pasting a bunch of stupid people's arguments? Can you not read, that this thread contains different arguments on different weapons from different people?
You know what? I fucking like the Chargin' Targe. There, I [i]fucking[/i] said it, I like the damn thing. "But it accomplishes absolutely no purposes the Demo was designed for!" You cry, well god damn it, that's what unlocks are [i]supposed[/i] to do you [u]saucy man whore[/u][i]!!![/i] The unlockable weapons are supposed to bring about [i]new play styles[/i] for the classes, adding in [i]variety[/i] and [i]mixing things up[/i]. This could be a very minor change of play that leaves the core style of the weapon untouched but shakes up the surface mechanics, or it could be a [b]massive[/b] overhaul unlock that brings an entirely new method of play to the field. Just look at the Huntsman or Jarate. By the logic of Targe haters the Sniper should've gotten neither because the Sniper is supposed to hang back and pick off targets from a distance because he sucks in close quarters combat, but holy fuck dingles on ice, look at [i]this[/i], the Huntsman is a terrible weapon for long range sniping, you've got to get [i]up close and dirty[/i] with it for it to be any good, that's the [b][u]polar fucking [i]opposite[/i][/u][/b] of his "intended" purpose, same thing goes with Jarate, which is a combat support weapon that has to be thrown in a relatively short range if you want to guarantee collision with an enemy, once again [i]nothing[/i] related to long distance camping there. Sure, the Huntsman is an unbalanced weapon, but I have [u]never[/u] heard [u]anyone[/u] complain about the premise of making the Sniper into a more offensively inclined class. And then we have the Targe. It completely turns the original game mechanics of the demo inside-out, and y'know what? That was the point. It gives the demo an entirely new set of strengths, weaknesses, and tactics, and I'm all for it. But then we get a bunch of idiots who apparently piss themselves at the sheer thought of "variety" and so they mass against the Targe because it "just isn't a demoman weapon" WELL THE HUNTSMAN WASN'T A SNIPER WEAPON EITHER AND NOBODY IS COMPLAINING OVER THAT. If you're honestly complaining about the fact Valve is adding variety to the game then you're not just stupid but an [i]asshole who probably didn't even try the weapon because they're too busy boasting about their leet skillz[/i] (or rather their penis size)[i] or flaming "noobs" for posting a different opinion... You [highlight]Fuck[/highlight][/i]. And while I do agree that the Targe has so much incredibly dependent synergy with the Eyelander so as to make equipping the ol' Scrumpy bottle a terribad' choice, they can still function as independent weapons on their own (though to a less decent extent as other synergising unlock pairs in the past). The Targe makes the Demo an amazing counter to Soldiers and Pyros and the Eyelander is just plain hilarious to use in a pubby' match. And what about with both of them together? Well, they're somewhere between [i]mind boggling hilarity[/i] and [i]jaw dropping amazement[/i] in how fun they are to use, and quite frankly I think we've (read: YOU'VE) all forgotten that tf2 isn't about proffessional srs bsns' league championship pro play, it's about [i]fun[/i], and if an unlock achieves that then it's succeeded in its purpose. Also, all you guys rating OP box because you think he contradicted himself are fucking retarded, it's a debate thread with the points listed, now have YOUR box.
[QUOTE=Blargtastic;19069312]An useful post[/QUOTE] Adding that whole quote to the list.
Might want to cut it down a lot actually, it's pretty erm... [i]opinionated[/i]...

[QUOTE=Blargtastic;19069403]Might want to cut it down a lot actually, it's pretty erm... [i]opinionated[/i]...[/QUOTE] Fix'd it for you. Hope it still sticks to your main idea. And I still wonder why I got that many boxes in the first place. =/
Why does everyone say that the Scout has the lowest health in the game? HE HAS THE SAME FUCKING HEALTH AS LIKE 5 CLASSES.
[QUOTE=AshtonArdoin;19069526]Why does everyone say that the Scout has the lowest health in the game? HE HAS THE SAME FUCKING HEALTH AS LIKE 5 CLASSES.[/QUOTE] Add the Sandman. Also, top on that he's meant for assault combat. The Spy is supposed to AVOID fights, sneaking behind enemy lines and take them from the inside out. The The Sniper is supposed to be behind your own team's lines, taking out enemies from behind. The Engineer mostly relies on his Sentry to do the attacking for him. He's not so much meant for being on the attacking spree, rushing at the enemy. Don't say Medic. He has 150 health. So yeah, for an Assault Class, the Scout DOES have the lowest health.
tl;dr: People moan too much and should just play the damn game.
That and every item he has is for offense, so he is actually a completely and utterly offensive class. [editline]10:35PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Panda.;19069604]tl;dr: People moan too much and should just play the damn game.[/QUOTE] way to read the thread cockrocket.
Maybe I should have made an unnecessarily elaborate post filled with lots of text formatting BBCode.
