TF2 without shitty weapons ? Common' ! - Games

Hey guys ! A friend bought a 18 slots' server, here is a little advertising for him. Here are the modifications which are on the server : -The hats and the miscs are still available. -No crits, no dmg spread -No polycount weapons ! -And here is the list with the weapons available Scout : Vanilla loadout + Bonk! Soldier : Vanilla loadout Pyro : Vanilla loadout + Backburner, flaregun, axtinguisher, homewrecker. You say no shitty weapons, but Backburner is allowed, yet not Degreaser? Wow. Also, nice advertising. That's definitely something there.

You say no shitty weapons yet you have sandvich and dead ringer enabled.

Everyone seems to want to play vanilla mode, yet vanilla servers never seem to last more than a week or two. Also, either ban all unlocks or none at all. It's stupid that the BB (a pile of horse manure) of all things is left in whilst the degreaser (A+ and classy) isn't. No-one has the authority to say what is perfect and what isn't.

If degreaser isn't allowed but other unlocks are, we instantly get a situation where some people are annoyed their favourite unlocks are not included, whilst others who say use the BB are happy. Seems dumb to me. Only reason I like the degreaser is because I'm a team-player in a team oriented game. Don't call me a retard because I like helping out my allies with fire removal and projectile blasting.

The degreaser is way too easy to use and too M2-spam friendly. And yeah, sorry for the insults. I'm a pyro, I like to flame... "Déformation professionnelle", as they say.

The vanilla was way more unforgiving as only the medic and engineer could heal you, you didn't have Bonk or DR to get you out of a tight spot. You had to use more teamwork. Missin' dem days.

I kinda like the new weapons, except for mad milk and sidney sleeper (however that is spelled). They feel so cheap.

My idea of "TF2 without shitty weapons" and that still meant some unlocks would be available, would mean that the only unlocks available would be the ones that aren't upgrades in any way. Therefor, no Sandwich, no Equalizer, no Axstinguisher, no Blutsauger, and no ubersaw.

For example, I consider the blutsauger a downgrade, whilst a BB pyro may consider the axtinguisher a downgrade, preferring the Rake when working behind enemy lines or even the powerjack, in order to gain health. Because there is so much subjectiveness, picking and choosing what goes and what stays is a bad move.

I thought it was an upgrade even back then!

In the french TF2 community this server belong to, some experienced pyros start to use the backburner or sometimes the vanilla one over the others flamethrowers again, because it is based on what the pyro was before : an ambush class. The airblast and the degreaser is looked at like the new plague, beeing way too easy to use, luck based when at close range, spam friendly, allowing cheap easy frontal insta kills with degreaser + axtinguisher, useless to the team if not well used (you know, the pyro just standing at medium range, doing nothing but reflecting). The backburner doesn't require 'skill', but you have to flank, ambush, plan, for maximal damage. Then you play the pyro as it was planned to be played at start. W+M1 pyros only kill low health players or beginners, really.
