• Valve could do one little thing that would make me love the holiday update:

Donate the profits from Mann Co. Store sales over the next couple weeks (or at the very least, holiday key sales) to some kind of charity. I know when the update hit, there was a whole lot of whining... "Whaaa, it's Christmas, Valve should be giving us free stuff, not trying to squeeze more money out of us." But think about this. Wouldn't it be way more fitting for the Christmas spirit if Valve was donating these massive profits from festive holiday keys and such to the needy? Y'know, rather than keeping it for themselves? I suppose they might be doing this, only they just haven't announced it yet, though I don't know why they would defer all the publicity they'd get from gathering tons of donations for like, orphans or some shit. They get tons of money year-round from people buying normal keys, and buying their silly little hats to complete item sets and whatnot, so would it really kill them to send some of the two weeks' worth of holiday cash to a more needy group? One thing I can definitely say is that I would not be at all reluctant to buy holiday keys if I knew the money was going to a charitable organization rather than just being another source or profits for Valve. In fact, I'd probably buy a key for every crate I've found. I might even be convinced to buy other items from the store if they were also for charity. Maybe I've been watching too many Christmas movies (damn you, It's a Wonderful Life), but I would really love to see something like this happen.
True, I thought of that earlier today. Send an email to Robin he is not going to answer. (Or even look at it. :smith:) We should get somebody Valve likes (Daimao?) to email them about this.
I say we dress up as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future and pay our friend gabe a little visit, that'll teach him the true meaning of Christmas!
I hate having €0.08 left in my wallet. I want to be able to throw it away for charity or something.
Should tell Robin. I'd love to buy some sort of hat for charity.
Agreed, they should really be adding some items where all proceeds go toward charities. Maybe hats for charity, too, and a different hat for each charity?
i was thinking he could add a MANN-CURRENCY item or something that you get for playing and you can use it in the mann co. store but this works too
Good idea, but it's never going to happen. The TF2 team love their money too much.
They could also do like a "If we reach X, everyone gets a X" or something.
I guess giving most of the profits back to the community that made the update possible isn't enough now?
Would instantly buy enough keys to open the 15 crates I have hanging about. Right now I don't want to give any more to the TF2 team until they buck their damn ideas up.
Is donating oto orphans/retards/etc. only done to gain popularity? there should be more praise for people who donate money to sicence to move our civilization forward -- curing retardation, overcoming aging, cure for aids-cancer-etc. // what if i was a retard --> then please kill me i wouldnt want gifts to praise me for being retarded

On christmas, its like halloween update except with snow - all the crates are opened and a big festive event goes on with new gamemodes, maps and other things. Classic VALVe-Esque Christmas Carol [editline]19th December 2010[/editline] also a pipe dream

DO IT, VALVE!

TO THE CHRISTMAS MOBILE! I promise that's the last time I'll make that joke.
It would troll those who were retarded enough to buy shit from Steam Store. Also, Valve give hats to those who never used the store. Make it look cool. "Hat of the Poor and Irish"
Valve must have a reason for making an entirely separate set of keys for this specific crate, so hopefully it probably has been their plan all along.

Even the ghost of Christmas future will be wondering where EP3 is.

How santa hat is missing in this Christmas update? Seriously.
How santa hat is missing in this Winter update? Seriously.
Fixed that for you.
Fixed that for you.
Don't need. But I mean it. Why valve couldn't release Santa hat for everybody just like Gibus or something like that.
It would be sort of nice. But don't expect much.

[editline]19th December 2010[/editline] No really, if we bring our civilization even more forward we'll just kill ourselves...
