Does anyone else feel that this was a poor way to distribute the Australium wrenches? I understand that it's supposed to be a limited thing, but Valve is essentially purposefully pointing out how much the crafting system sucks. Many people have already crafted away whole backpacks in hopes of receiving something you'll probably never even see in your lifetime of playing. I, for one, was a bit confused at first, and ended up crafting my Pyro items, Scout items, and a few Spy watches. This isn't too big of a deal for me, but it IS a setback that encourages idling. Anyone else feel this is a little gimmicky?

I can't participate because I have nothing to craft but I don't care because hell do you really think you could get it?
It would be nice if it wasn't limited to 100.
and adding Golden weapons rather then just the wrench, making it the new "Hat" concept, and making crafting a bit more "exciting" knowing that you could be one of the 25 people a day getting a golden weapon.

Here's my view of this:
These 100 people are probably just the beginning carriers of the wrenches. When the Engineer update is released, players will be able to obtain their own wrench from said carriers much like the gibus. Then nature will take its place.
I have removed a lot of weapons that I [i]may[/i] (note the italics) have used, meaning that I was a bit pissed off since I really wanted to get a golden wrench. But I got a heavy duty rag by crafting, so I'm happy.

Yeah, the people getting the Wrench now will be in The Hall of Fame and will be immortalised forever.
If I was one of those 100 people I would trade the wrench for a hat.
There's a 9 on the first digit of the wrench counter
I might email Robin and ask if there will ever be an alternative way to get these. The Soldier medal was a giveaway to over eleven thousand people, and I've never even seen one in game. From the looks of things now, the only way we'll ever see an Australium wrench is if we get one or have a friend who has one.
The first 25 used the infinite crafting exploit to get the wrench.

Granted it's only in my class selection, when I pass by Soldier to pick a different class.
