• Warning: Connection Problem

This has only just started today, and it's annoying the hell out of me. After 10 seconds of playing I get that message, when I rejoin I can't use anything but the default weapons. My game has been playing great before and my computer is more than capable of running the game, but today this keeps happeneing. Things I've tried: - Verify Game Cache - Defrag - Restarted Computer :colbert: - Restarted Connection - Disabled Steam Cloud - Changed rates Any other sensible suggestions?
Started happening to me a couple months back, too. It also sometimes causes the loading screen when you're joining a server to freeze at 'sending client info'. If you retry, you'll either lose connection to Steam for your items, or you won't be able to, as the server will sometimes believe you are still connected to it. To fix the backpack thing, just retry again. To be able to re-join a server that says you're already connected you'll need to just wait a few minutes until the server drops you. Apart from that, you just have to keep trying. Sometimes 5 servers in a row will give me a connection problem within 10 seconds, sometimes I don't see the problem for days at a time.
So there's no fix for this?
Reset/Unplug your router or modem, and plug it back in?
Haven't found a fix for it, no.
What router do you have? Would it be a BT Home Hub or Speedtouch by any chance?
Reset/Unplug your router or modem, and plug it back in?
I said I tried that.
What router do you have? Would it be a BT Home Hub or Speedtouch by any chance?
And no, It's O2.
I get the exact same problems, only since the engineer update so I'm hopeing valve have a fix.
I find it odd that when this happens Steam can quite happily connect to your friends list and the game its self but not the steam servers for the backpack.
I have the same thing, also happens on both L4Ds
I have the same problems on all Source Games, it's been happening for ages to me and it's extremely annoying to get disconnected every 5 minutes.
Well this happens to me exactly 10 seconds when I join.
Right now I've got no connection to steam friends at all.
I don't have problems connecting to steam friends, the internet, or playing any other games, it's just Valve games. There should be a fix for this. I googled and clicked every damn link. All threads ended up looking something similar to this one. So 1: It can't be cause of the recent update. 2: It's not our connection due to other games being able to play online perfectly, and 3: Valve probably won't find a solution for us unless it's happening to the majority of players. There must be something we haven't all tried, but I can't work out what, I've tried all-sorts. Including the ones listed I've also tried: Rolling back the diver Re-updating the driver Connecting to another network Disabled programs running in the background There seriously has to be some quick fix. And no, it isn't my computer that's at fault.
Any solution to fix this?
I find that my shitty adapter tends to overheat. Does yours feel hotter than it should be?
No mine doesn't do that. :B
It's as if I get into the server, move around a second then connection loss issues :/ .
Any other suggestions?
Aaaaaaaany atall? :frog:
FIXED! For now atleast... Had to forward my ports. :colbert:
Reset/Unplug your router or modem, and plug it back in?
Do I have to wait 15 seconds before i turn it on again?
