Not only does it imply that the length of time justifies the quality of the work, but it's always some absurdly short amount. If you're not willing to work twelve hours on a painting, why bother showing it to other people? Does this kid assume that his favorite SFM videos were pounded out in an afternoon?

Yes, some people think that these great videos they see made with SFM are made in probably half the time it took them to even set up the scene they were trying to set up. It's just people not understanding that it takes time to make something decent and that as long as they try long enough they have an excuse to say "You shouldn't say mean things about this I worked really long on it".
