Speculation on the Recent Updates to the Civilian?

If anyone didn't know, the Civilian's code-ey bits have been slightly altered by Valve for a while now. The health was raised from like 50 or something to 200 and it was given a raise in speed very slightly, and it was given the ability to use a weapon and I BELIEVE it got Medic's viewmodel arms as a placeholder. It seems like Valve is testing the waters for something related to a new class.

Here's my question for the TF2 community here on FP. What speculation do you have on this, as well as what are your opinions on the somewhat exciting prospect of a new class in some form?
