• Spotting a cheater

So uhm, I need some advise. I'm admin on a server and there's a player I think of that he might be cheating. But whenever I (or anyone else) goes spectator, he gets alot worse. A friend of mine thinks he might be wallhacking. But when he spectates him, he gets only one impossible headshot (like he predicts which direction someone comes from) and then BAM he gets really bad. So, I'd like to know if there's a way to spot a cheater (to get some really good evidence that he is cheating).
That's generally an easy way to spot a cheater. It's no coincidence that he goes from great to shit as soon as someone spectates, just tell the server owner and ban the guy. Also, look for "quivering", where the gun twitches around on its own.
-snip I'm dumb :saddowns:- Well, thanks longears34, Gillo, Suttles and MrParalegal I hate you guys too. :colbert:

Put up SourceTV. tv_enable 1 load new map tv_record haxor whenever you suspect something maybe disguise it with tv_name <name>
Tv_name "Valve's Super Anti-Cheat camera"
See a sniper constant for about 5 games with top score? No doubt he's a waller.
And if you don't want to go through that much effort, just bluff and tell you're about to do something against a certain cheater and have to excuse yourself in a few minutes. Let's see who leaves the server after that announcement.
I already banned him once and the other admins lifted the ban because they couldn't see anything suspicious on the recorded demos.
See a sniper constant for about 5 games with top score? There's a hell of a lot better Snipers out there who can easily topscore consistently for as long as you want without any hacks.
I already banned him once and the other admins lifted the ban because they couldn't see anything suspicious on the recorded demos.
Give the demos to me, and I'll be able to tell you whether he's hacking or not. Gotta be demos from when he's actually playing good (ie the behaviour that makes you think hack).
2fort instaspawn sniping is a joke.
Maybe post his Steam Profile? :3:
Try to change names and join the game and sit there to spectate. He won't notice hopefully.

He probably does that when someone who was already playing suddenly changes to spectator. If you just join the game and stay spectator, he won't get suspicious.
Merely record a demo. You'll be able to spec him after the event.
If he's wallhacking, just turn sv_pure on and see how shit he gets.
Watch for sudden snaps to the head or any parts of the body. I've often noticed that myself when searching for cheaters.
Watch him do 180 degree turns and headshot you when try to backstab him as a Spy.
I thought VAC handles cheaters. Or maybe I trust that thing too much.
I thought VAC handles cheaters. Or maybe I trust that thing too much.
A friend of mine got banned for running something in the background which didn't even have to do with cheats. :v:
I thought VAC handles cheaters. Or maybe I trust that thing too much.
Bans are delayed, and VAC detects mostly injected stuff in the DLLs or modified Exe
now almoust 50% of players using material hacks and say they got skill beter turn on on that server sv_pure 2 and his skill will bee 0

A good sniper isnt always a hacker. For me, I'm barely a good sniper, but every few rounds, all of a sudden I get super good, and go to the top of the leaderboard, and manage to headshot everyone. Thats when I get accused of hacking, but its just random goodness going through me. Then the next round I start being bad again. :saddowns: Whats funny, is that no matter what, I'm a good sniper on orange crit maps(body shots/no scope shots), so everyone accuses me of hacking when I get 100 points in 10 minutes, its a fucking open map with 100% crits.
Best move to detect a wallhacker is to record a demo of said suspious player, then when in the demo, enable wireframe.
Oh come on.. Have you ever heard of something called "Skill" ? It's quite easy to snipe on pub servers, specially for competitive players like me and thousands of others. For any doubt just record a Source TV on the server and check it yourself while Wireframed. I get 1st place on almost all servers that i play and it would be quite sad if i got banned from most of them for suscipious of "Hacking" lol.
Do you get worse when someone is spectating you? Have you actually seen this guy in action? Get off of your high fucking horse.
With people even doing castings of Competitive where 300+ people watch i don't get worse at all. When you practice everyday with your team atleast 1-2 hours you get used to it. If you want to watch someone great under pressure see JH, Darn or Shintaz.
