It started today, haven't downloaded anything for it or modified it in any way, it just randomly started crashing. The screen normally freezes causing the error message to be invisible. I tried reinstalling it and it didn't do anything. Suggestions?
Agreed, it's crashing often for me too. Since the engineer update.
I've noticed that it doesn't happen as much when there are few people in the server. Before it dies, either A) the sound starts skipping and the screen freezes or B) everything gets all glowy and blurry.

and it happened for me BEFORE the engie update.
Starting now i get sound loops, exept i had a ATI issue (hate ATI...), and finally got the new update to stay, and CCC not to vanish, and now i think im good.
It just crashed again, with no message at all. It's hard to play tf2 when it crashes every 10 minutes, I'd appreciate any help anyone can give. :frown:
try -autoconfig in start-up options,
I have found that every time a point in KOTH is captured is slows down tremendously, and every time someone uses the wrangler the game instantly crashes.
I tried autoconfig, but none of my settings actually reset. The error did show up, though:

I haven't a clue what that could mean, but there it is.
I've always had stuttering and looping sounds in Tf2. After this update, it stopped.
I'm crashing randomly ever 20 or so minutes. It will be running perfectly fine until BAM, back to my desktop where the message "HL2 Has encountered an error and needed to be shut down"
:wtc:
I tried disabling steam cloud to see if it was restoring my settings from autoconfig, and it still refused to actually reset my settings. I deleted my TF folder and it seemed to run a bit better, less crashes but it still crashed way more than it should.
