This is just a quick little guide to TF2. For new players. Experienced players will not see anything new, unless they have been rushing as spy for most of their time in TF2. Intro TF2 is a multiplayer FPS made by VALVe, if you didn't realize that. TF2 has a few game modes that anyone can enjoy. Today I will just be going over some basics. There are 9 classes. 3 offence, 3 defense, and 3 support. Offence build up the front line and these classes excell with speed and power, and the ability to take down almost anything Defense are the backbone. They take on anyone slipping past the line. These excel in armor and the ability to take on multiple opponents in defensive situations. Support is everywhere, helping all his/her team mates. They excel in speed and sometimes have a bit of power. Now that we are done with that, time for a bit ore in depth. To the front line! Offence Offence make the point of the spear. They are the ones that push forward and attack There are 3 classes in this section The Pyro: Without any doubt, the pyro is the easiest and simplest class to use. The pyro is equiped with 3 weapons, like most classes. The Flamethrower: Kills enemies quicker the close you are. Sets them on fire, making spies visible and slowly doing damage. Other pyros are impervious to being ingnited, though still take damage. This is the "noob-tube" of TF2. Range: Very Short Shotgun: Not a very special gun, but very reliable Shotguns kill from 2-4 hits at point blank to a class with 125 HP with no crits. Rage: Medium-short Axe: Very powerful melee weapon. Does alot of damage and has medium rage in melee terms Tactics: Sweeping areas for spies, rushing, ambushing The Soldier The soldier is the sarge of the offensive classes. He's badass, killed many enemies. Who else could it be? Soldier. Armed with 3 weapons, he is dangerous as fuck in the right hands. Rocket Launcher: The soldiers primary. Kills a Heavy (300 HP) in four hit directly. Hold 4 rockets per clip and has great splash damage. Range: All, but best at mid range The Shotgun: I'm not going to go over this again. This has been explained in the pyro class section. see there for info. The Shovel: Lookin' sharp and badass, but honestly, it the worst melee weapon of all time. I recommend not using it for its short melee range and low damage. Tactics: Building destruction, front line attack The Scout Who is going to be there before ya? The scout, that's who. Runs and jumps the best of all classes, he suffers from his low health. Scattergun: The scouts primary. Does more damage than the normal shotgun. kills a heavy in 2-4 hits at point blank range. Pistol: Though it does have a small magazine size and low damage, the pistol has excellent accuracy and has a excellent firerate (PS, IT'S AUTOMATIC) Baseball Bat: BONK, homerun! This is a good melee weapon, having good range in melee terms and good damage, combined with the scouts speed and agility, this is one of the BEST melee weapons. Tactics: Flag/point/cart grabbing, flanking, reconnaissance Defense The handle of the spear. Without this, the front line would keep getting pushed back, and enemies would invade. Excelling in the ability to take down multiple opponents, these are excellent in guarding important areas Demoman I don't trust this drunk scotish african america cyclopse. You might. Grenade Launcher: Basicly the rocket launcher with grenades. Explodes on contact. Sticky Grenades: You can stick about 8 grenades to a wall or ceiling or the floor, and right click to blow shit up. Place 1 or 2 on the ground, jump above them, and blow them up to grenade jump like in Halo 3. Bottle o' Wisky: As humorous as it is, it isn't that good of a melee weapon, but it is reliable. Tactics: Guarding areas such as intel, sentry bases, ect. Heavy Huge, powerful, and armed to the teeth, this illiterate Russian bear is willing to do anything to save sandwhich and sasha. Minigun: Inaccurate, it does a good ammount of damage with a high fire rate and 200 rounds to use. Close-mid range Shotgun: Again, see the pyro section Fists: Doing great damage with good range (melee terms) it is a very good weapon. Taunt with it and heavy with shoot with his hands. Tactics: Defending areas, pushing forward. I'm too lazy to finish the guide, ATM. I wish edit it later. Please tell me what you think of it so far. And go ahead and hide me in the room on brown boxes for no reason
I wouldn't really call this a guide as of now, all you're doing is giving people a description of some of the classes. Also, you might want to write this up in word or something, just for the spell checking.
Not bad so far, might want to change the Grenade Launcher description though. -------------------------------------- Try This: Grenade Launcher: Basically the rocket launcher, but with Grenades that arc rather than fly in a straight line. Explodes on contact with enemies, or after about 3-4 seconds after firing. A direct hit with a grenade is more powerful than a direct rocket (110<155), the grenade launcher is a splendid choice for "good demomen."
You know that all default melee weapons are the same, barring the bat, which is faster and weaker, and the spy's knife, right?

And engi, his wrench does some mean damage up close... @Desum: Yes, Chrome is gud...

The shovel can instakill a scout if it crits.
All melee weapons are the same except knife, bat, and unlockables.
If I were you I'd add the fact that pyros can reflect explosives and extinguish burning teammates with airblast. [editline]11:27PM[/editline] Otherwise its just w+m1
Good point... Try explaining how even though reflecting will be hard at first, with enough time as pyro, it will simply become second nature...
There is a critical flaw present in your guide: You have run out of reference points on your spear model. :eng101: (Although the Team Fortress 2 wiki, in-game tips, and in-game training and tutorials make this guide - and its abundance of misinformation - somewhat unnecessary.)
Still as bad as the last one. All you really did was completely remove the worst parts.
Why would you post this guide before you finish it?
Why post this guide period, it's going to consume a lot of your time (if you ever finish it/make it decent) and their are better sites and whole videos dedicated to this exact same thing that are much better and more thorough.
Well, that's two "guides" the Forum has seen lately, this one only being slightly helpful...
Why do people post unfinished things like this? If you want to be taken seriously, format your post and complete the damn thing before posting.
