i've been playing tf2 for around 3 weeks now and i have not found anything at all.
i mentioned this on a server i usually play on, and someone asked me if i was vac banned.
i told him yes, and he didn't respond after that
so my question is, does being vac banned mean you cannot get items?
Yes you don't, and avoid threads like this one.
:ninja: damn ninjas.
Yes. IF you're VAC'd you can't get items.
i'm guessing i can still buy items, because as long as valve gets money they don't care who you are.

Nope, vac bans disables every type of items in-game, you can't trade, buy or join vac servers.
welp okay then. good job valve. banishing 90% of the content of all the games someone has because they used an aimbot once 3 years ago on a cs:s server.

Since I bought the games I've never seen an aimbot on a TF2 server before, but on CS:S I've seen about 3. Odd.
should not have hacked in the first place
and you are completely right.
i just don't think that that should mean a permanent branding for all eternity. I did not hack into valve's website and change everything to look like sweet bro and hella jeff so why should i be permanently restriced from all content aside from the bare essentials.

I saw an Aimbotter on TF2 one time, It was annoniying, he was using the wrangler, later he went scout and dominated everybody with the pistol, and before leaving he went Heavy
and OP, you should buy Tf2 on a new account

You can't buy the games again over the course of three years? If I was VAC banned and bought a new game there is no way it would be on the VAC'd account.

Because when you purchased the game you basically agreed to a legally binding contract with Valve and they have the explicit right to take away any privileges from your account should they deem it necessarily. Purposely ruining someone else's fun, regardless of whether it was 3 years ago or just yesterday, is in direct violation of the agreement you made to Valve and they hold every right to ban you from playing their game.
Put it this way. Say you went to an amusement park and went around and kicked everyone in the shins and ruined their good time. You get banned from the amusement park and are no longer allowed to enter. Three years later, you think they're still going to let you into their park after the last time? Saying "Oh, I'm sorry" isn't going to change their mind. It's your own fault for doing it. The difference here is that at least you have an option of purchasing TF2 on a different account. You may be upset with that but perhaps you should've took that into consideration before you cheated in the first place.
okay then [sp]gabe newell[/sp] i guess i'll just buy the game on another account.
I think after being vac banned they don't remove your bought items and you can still buy stuff
But it would be cheaper to just buy it on another account

This is just sad. I can land 85% of my hits right on target, all you need is some good practice and you're good to go.
