Has this happened to anyone else? I've been trying to get better as Soldier, he's seriously a class that I've almost never played. I have the Direct Hit, but I don't use it because I'm still getting used to using the regular rocket launcher.
However, I've been banned from three different servers because I won't use the DH because it's supposedly "noobish" to use the original RL. I mean, I tried using it and it's fucking hard as hell to hit people dead on. I'm just not good enough at it.
Anyone else have this problem?

eGO is a clan full of retards, but that's beside the point.
Any server that bans you for using the rocket launcher is rubbish. Paired with the buff banner it's actually more efficient than the DH since the splash damage fills your damage meter faster if you know where to shoot. With the DH you only deal damage on a direct hit. With the normal rockets, you can deal a large amount of splash damage to multiple enemies if they're close together.

The AoE is roughly the size of a teleporter, so there is such a thing as an indirect hit with the DH.

i use the normal rocket launcher too. i'm far better with it, i'm simply not used to the DH
i love just standing there and sidestepping from the rockets from DH users. it's so funny
