I have a question about Tf2. I've heard time and time again that Tf2 is not resource intensive. I've had the infamous menu/backpack stutter and random fps drop problem for awhile. The thing is, my old card was a GTX 570. It was outdated, but still a decent card. Now I have a 760, with is much less outdated and a pretty damn reliable and decent card from what I've been told. It still stutters and drops FPS. Is TF2 just badly optimized or what? I'm legitimately confused.

Source relies as much on CPU as it does GPU. What is yours?

3.50 GHZ on an Eight-core processor.

I'm assuming you're talking about the FX 8320. I use a 6350 and 660 and get 300+ fps, so it must be software issues. Download Geforce Experience and optimize your game with it, it will tell you the correct settings, perhaps you had it set to the wrong filtering or turned off something in video settings.

Set my heapize and put -high in the launch options, aswell as optimized it from Geforce Experience, still the same problems with menu/backpack stuttering.
The backpack stutter is an optimization "improvement" they added a couple months back to try and speed up load times. Instead of loading every backpack icon up front, the game waits until you've opened up the backpack, and then it only loads the icons it needs. Unfortunately, the way they decided to do it was to have the game just hang there doing nothing until the icons are loaded, which is the freezing/stuttering you get.
They actually added a fix a few months later where instead of hanging like that, the page just opens up instantly and the icons are replaced by little animated TF2 logos until they're done loading, but for some reason it doesn't work for the first page.
I think they also added a similar "improvement" for weapon models a while back, not loading them until needed and then freezing for a split second in the middle of the game as it loads the files, but I haven't had any trouble with it lately so maybe they fixed it, I don't know.
tl;dr it's badly optimized

I can see how the weapon "improvement" can affect the class menus. I want to know if there's anyway to override that though, something like that.
