My (unusual) trading legacy: how much i suck at trading - Games

at first when trading came out, my friend So Zetta Slow was basically the best trader you have ever seen. before trading, he had 12 hats (including non-tradables) and well... just check here to see how well for himself he's doing. [url]http://www.tf2items.com/id/themedster[/url] that's right, 150 hats and counting. I had only 6 hats before trading (including non-tradables) and now i have 70. [url]http://www.tf2items.com/id/CinderBlock[/url] ok, at first i was doing pretty well, i have gathered about 8 hats by then. <skipping to the better part> when i got my first unusual, i was gathering crates and i had about 13. i asked my friend to open them for me because he had alot of keys. i told him he could keep the items as long as it was not a crap unusual. BAM! first crate opened, confetti frenchman's beret. i traded a guy for flies beret. later, i was trading with someone who offered a baker boy with hearts for my unusual. shocked, i accepted immediately. he unchecked and placed the item back which i thought was strange. i accept, and my unusual baker boy is actually a regular baker boy, i had been taken for a fool (which i can say for sure, i was). i contact valve and the next day i look through my backpack in remorse only to find nothing other than a max's head, lugermorph, and big kill! i was extremely happy and traded it for a searing plasma hound dog. later i trade that for a white ushanka with tf2 logo. i trade that and a bills hat (like a retard) for a freaking sombrero with confetti!!! i dont know what was wrong with me, but it was a really good hat and i got many offers for it (all in vane). my next unusual didnt come until christmas, i opened up a festive crate to find a beak with vivid plasma. i trade that for a spy mask with purple energy. i trade THAT for a brigade helm with purple energy. ugh, i am a total fuck up, i know. i blow BOTH of my unusuals for a pyromancer with green energy. i stick with that unusual for a very long time until i go on tf2tp.com and put it up and 2 seconds later (almost literally) i get an offer of a madame dixie with burning flames, a vintage crit-o-cola, a visor, and a engy cap. i jumped at the chance and accepted and a half-an-hour later, i have what i think, the cream of the crop as far as unusuals. i tell everyone about how i just made one of the greatest trades ive ever made. everyone tells me how much of a flop my trade was. and that pretty much leads up to here, tell me what you think. i think i finally reached flaming pyro, what ive been striving for this whole time. oh faf! i got my friend front page on tf2items.com! thats pretty cool.

Kinda not on-topic, but you can sell a Max Head for $150+.

I strive to have my favorite hat for each class some day. I'm glad you got what you wanted, whereas I have not come one step at all to completing my goal. You say you suck at trading.

So the moral is unusuals are stupid and Valve should have never added them in the game/remove them from the game. Makes sense.

I traded my Larrikin Robin with sunbeams which I got with a stocking stuffer key for a few non-vintage hats because I don't really give a shit and would rather have a few good hats I'm happy with than a shit particle effect. My advice; stop caring so much. You'll save yourself a ton of aggravation and headache. I find it pretty idiotic how you traded for a hat you really liked and enjoyed, but now regret such a thing because everyone tells you it was supposedly a "bad trade." It's a good trade if you're happy with what you got. Now you're convincing yourself otherwise simply because of everyone else's perceived values of hats.
