Well basicaly I got my hands on the pldx particles ( http://boltysparticles.blogspot.com/2010/07/yes.html )
And I was wondering what particles have inforced consistency. As in having the certain particle installed will block acces from servers.

They're not for normal play but just to make videos.

Yeah, these were not created with performance in mind; you probably shouldn't be trying to use them in regular play unless you like large FPS drops.

I used them and my FPS stayed the same.
They make your game crash, creator confirmed it.
It's only for movies.

I think the major lag in the video explained it all.
didn't really like the trails from pipe and stickybombs but its pretty cool..
its no use for me though

I thought, that it wasn't a lag, but a slo-mo effect, that was made to show us the sprites.
Funny how they look so awesome but you can only use it in demos.

That's the purpose of it, to make your videos look better. It was made with that idea in mind, you're acting like he made them so high-def that it destroys normal play.
I'm sure it'd be possible to make better particle effects. Hell, in Day of Defeat: Source, some guy made a much better looking particle pack that caused less lag because of the way smoke and various other particles are rendered. Valve did a shit job when they made particle effects, note smoke grenades in CS:S and the like.
I know it's completely off-topic, but I'm loving the background music.

its so beautiful :'(
It would be awesome if these were optimized to be used in regular play.
but like it has already been said, these are meant for movie making.
The crockets cause FPS to crash and burn.
I only use the flamethrower effect, because everything else causes my fps to die
I would kind of love to use the sticky trails because they help me judge whether my sticky is flying in range from a distance, but in a large-scale fight I'd be looking at 5 fps or so
Install them, join a server. You will be kicked for particle consistency. Open the console and make a list of the disallowed particles. Go to your particles directory and delete those. As I remember, it's only about 6 particle files that aren't allowed (ones that can give gameplay advantages if modified, like the spy's disguise effect and the "recent teleport" trail effect). I use the particles on normal servers. It makes the "You were killed by X" screenshots look like fucking movie posters I can tell you.
