How many times have you been sittin' there, slavin' away at your sentry, and you turn your pretty little head, and see that incoming troop of Blu bastards comin' to destroy your sentry? Have you ever felt powerless, because your shotgun can't reach that far? Maybe because that Peashooter pistol just can't work wonders?

Because, thanks to MANN CO., I have found the power to destroy any incoming unwanteds.

The Buckshot is a pretty' damn cool Huntin' Rifle.Perfect for laying waste to crazy mindless animals. It also works great on woodland creatures.
See, the Buckshot has pretty long range, so y'all can see any incoming mudder hubbards, coming to destroy your machinery. Think of it, like a smaller version of the Snipa' rifle, and not only is the Buckshot long ranged, this thing works wonders with diggin hole's in people.
Now, unfortunately, this here Buckshot ain't all cream cheese and gravy. With great power, comes great... having less shots.
These super caliber animal killing rounds are heavy, and I can't really carry to many of em... they're also a burden to reload. But who cares? I'm having the time of my Life! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!

so we turn the sniper into a medium range class, demo and soldier into close range classes, and an engie into a sniper
makes perfect sense
shotguns are only accurate in close range. especially buckshot shotguns seeing as they are spreadshot.

It's a hunting rifle. I just gave it the name Buckshot cause it sounded Tf2-y.
You're marketing the product like the Engineer is some backwoods hick who has as many brain cells as he does teeth. The idea is not very good, either way.
First off, I have no idea what the hell it's supposed to replace, and that's generally a sign that your unlock idea is a bad one. Additionally, I'm unsure of the purpose of this unlock. What does this unlock seek to remedy regarding the Engineer?... so what, you built a sentry out in the open, of course it's going to get smashed to pieces. If someone's shooting at your sentry and isn't dead by the time their rocket/bullets/piss hit it, that's your fault. Show 'em who's who by waltzing over and pumping their face full of shrapnel. This doesn't seem to help the Engineer defend his (poorly placed) sentry at all, it seems like it's just making him more effective in direct combat.

I think it's a dumb idea, it's not really balancing anything. The engineer is fine without a long-range weapon.

To OP imo.
I'd actually probly increase the damage past 200% per bullet, since it only shoots once, maybe 400% to bring it to about 60-80 damage a shot.
Taunt - engie throws the rifle up in the air, takes a swig, tosses the bottle, and catches the rifle letting out a satisfying YE-HAW
If only he didn't need a wrench.
A guitar would be an AWESOME unlock.

He doesn't need a wrench, he could soothe his sentry with the sound of his voice and guitar, and make it upgrade :3:

when he plays, it reveals his position on the map, and renders him harmless while playing it, but its like the buff banner. he can play as long as he wishes, its a fucking guitar. he plays the song from "meet the engineer."
why a pistol replacement, and not a wrench replacement?
the pistol is replaced with the buckshot.
no shotgun replacement.
Wrench is needed to upgrade.
Hitting something with a wrench to upgrade is stretching reality
Hitting it with a guitar is just a mindfuck.
And two high powered weapons would suck.
The 'buckshot' (completely wrong name) should be a shotty replacement.

i think there is a guitar model somewhere. this would make a great unlock.
also, the guitar upgrades from a random (-5) to +15 metal but sucks up 25 from you reserve.
yes, you can devolve a building to level 0, a toolbox. the toolbox requires half the metal necessary to build at first upgrade to level one.

Actually that would be a great idea, you yould sacrifice healing your sentry for damage boosting it, like if it's under attack or something.
I meant the turret charges your rage meter and it acts like the bugle.
But that works too.
Hell, make it buff all buildings.
Faster teleporters, dispensers make more metal quicker, and sentries aim faster.
Oh I thought you ment you could play the guitar and you would go into a taunt like situation kind of like with sandvich. And it would boost your buildings, like more damage with sentry, dispenser, etc. And you'd do more damage but you can't fix it up, like if it's under attack, but I see what you're saying..
Whatever happens, a guitar should be the pistol unlock imo.
Even if it doesn't do anything except play a part of the engy song.

That would be lame.
Spies would just sap everything and if they succeeded they'd revolver the dispenser.
