• Strange crash issue on pl_Barnblitz?

Alright, I keep having this problem on pl_barnblitz, it's been this way for around a month, now. The map will be fine for a while, but then suddenly all the players and props just... vanish. About 10 or so seconds later, I crash automatically. It seems to be a problem with the BLU spawn area, specifically the section where the cart starts. That little area seems to trigger this crash... somehow. Initially, I thought it was my graphics drivers. But after updating them, I still had the problem. So thought maybe it was my TF2 mods, and yet, even after uninstalling all of them, the problem persists. And yes, I've verified my TF2 files. A few times now, in fact. I've even played with the graphics settings a bunch just to see if it was some kind of issue there. No dice. This seems to be a common isue, yet I haven't seen anyone find a solution for it yet.
This exact same thing has been happening to UGC players on swiftwater. I think they found a fix in one of the threads on ugcleague.net, but I don't recall what it was.
I had either this or a similar issue. I had cl_new_impact_effects set to 1 in my autoexec, turning them off seemed to fix the issue entirely.

There's actually a similar issue in Thundermountain when the cart reaches 2nd to last point. If it is as simple as disabling cl_new_impact_effects then golly, I wish I would'a thought of that sooner.
pl_swiftwater_ugc suffered from a similar issue. Nothing I tried (which included the suggested) worked. Chris's maxframes seemed to do it though. not sure what in there was able to solve it, but try sifting through that.
happens alot in MvM when 20 heavies are shooting at once so it's either related to the cl_newimpact effect or just an overflow of effects
