Is it possible to remove songs or have them replaced with silent songs of the same name within a stage? i.e. harbl hotel plays its own music, but I'd rather it played a silent noise
I think you can replace them using pakrat.
I think you can replace them using pakrat.
i believe that would make you unable to join a server because your map file would differ
But if they were the same name and filetype? The map would be referred to the songname.
You could record a silence in Audacity or Sound Recorder and then replace it inside the folder that the sound is located in. The place you'd go about finding the folder is Program Files/Steam/steamapps/[username]/team fortress 2/tf/sound. For Harbl Hotel, I'm guessing it'd relate to something like Harbl. Or Hotel. Or...something :v:

it it's paked in the map it overwrites your files anyway [editline]12:54PM[/editline]
But if they were the same name and filetype? The map would be referred to the songname.
doesn't matter, the content is different, it checks for that
Why would you make a thread about this when you already asked in the emporium?
is there any way to place down my mp3s of the same name within the bsp file in the same location?
no
is there any way to place down my mp3s of the same name within the bsp file in the same location?
Pakrat is the only way I know of to get into the bsp and add/remove stuff. Never used it before, so I'm not able to help with that.
Replacing the sound file would be the easiest thing to do. I'm guessing Pakrat changes the BSP, which means that the map would differ from the servers and render it useless. If I could get a download of Harbl Hotel, then I'd go and replace the sound and upload it for you.
It is being referred to harbl/sound. I cannot place files in such a directory. If you'd like to give it a shot... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6NH5GIHJ I want to keep the dogsong.wav. All the mp3s can go.
All I got in that was a bsp. I'd replace it if I got just the sound directory, I can't do anything with a bsp without making it differ from the servers, sorry.
just don't play on a shitty 4chan meme related map then
naw, it's a fun map. I just wish I didn't have to listen to its music.
