I equipped the FaN and it looks like a flare or something is under it. Does anyone else see this when they equip the FaN in the loadout screen?

I get that too, I think it's normal.
Those are the shells.
They're there all the time in the view model but you only see them when you reload.
Why even equip it in the first place.

You equip the FaN if you're more of a "hit and run" player, or if you want extra mobility with the force jump.
Also because it has superior burst capability.
I think he means that the barrel is misplaced and shells are under the gun. It's there since the Scout update.
