• Listening to Music While Playing TF2

Let's face it, explosions, people yelling that they're on fire and cries for a medic get a little grating after the first thousand hours of hearing them. Let alone the next thousand and so on. So sometimes people listen to music or whatever else (audiobooks?) while playing TF2. I'm curious to know what the TF2 community of Facepunch listens to while they spam rockets and hammer on E repeatedly. [sp]Podcasts count too, I guess.[/sp] This recently has become one of my more listened to songs, it plays during one of the most defining moments of Saints Row 4, and this song hammers it home. I know ripped from the comments, but it helps to have actually played the game to see for yourself. and just because it's great.
i usually don't because there are so many important in game audio cues
i usually don't because there are so many important in game audio cues
I normally can still hear a spy decloak or a buff horn being blown since it's not like you gotta listen to stuff at full volume. That and my headphones are loud. Not as loud as my old ones but I can still hear a spy decloak behind me while listening to gangnam style mashups. And then get facestabbed anyways because I have 700 ping.

Only if I start getting frustrated by the game. I'll either remove my headphones entirely or turn the game down a little and put on some quiet music in the background. Audio cues are important but sometimes it's more beneficial to reduce the sources of information and just focus on situational awareness, at least from a stress point of view. If that makes sense anyway.
Queen, Gorillaz, and Homestuck music. I tend to listen while playing on casual pubs. If the server is say, community though, I normally don't listen to music while playing. That said, it makes pubstomping alot of fun though.
I very rarely listen to music while playing TF2 unless I'm angry as fuck The Rite of Spring is very good at expressing these emotions
I typically listen to stuff like Hendrix or Creedence Clearwater. Music like that just seems so in-tune with the TF2 theme.
The soundtrack to Anarchy Reigns. The entire soundtrack is just so fast paced and violent it fits so well for mobile characters like Scout, Soldier, or Pyro.

But i consider Enter Shikari and Parkway Drive as my favorites and as most listened by me. Just interesting to know: if someone else likes any of those bands as well - rate this post zings
I only listen to music when I'm not playing seriously, and if I get to frustrated I turn it of because honestly the music is distracting me from the game.
I'm curious to know what the TF2 community of Facepunch listens to while they spam rockets and hammer on E repeatedly.
Spies decloaking, Snipers shooting, Sentry noises, teammates screaming as they're dying to crits/headshots/backstabs, Demoknights charging, Pyros holding M1 while chasing with their flamethrowers and so on.
I hope it's not just me, but I love to hear the sound of war and fighting going on in a TF2 server. It has a nice atmosphere to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztZI2aLQ9Sw
I usally listen to Skindred, Amaranthe, Skillet No cp_Powerhouse pun intended Music is a nice way to get a adrenaline boost.
Somewhat fitting: Cowboy Beepboop's soundtrack, Lupin The 3rd, Bastion, western media and western video games. Sometimes, I like playing fitting/related music when I'm playing a certain class. When I'm non-serious which is pretty much every time I play now, I listen to usually upbeat music to pump me up. From out of my "wide and shit" taste in music, video game osts I been raving about (Undertale for example), remixes/mashups of such osts, or even re-listening to the Sleepycast since they're on hiatus. I don't blast my music so I can still hear spies decloaking.

I sometimes listen to Viper or some gmcfosho, it helps me relax.
I've listened to some of the Venture Bros soundtrack while playing TF2 in the past, that seems to fit quite well. Sometimes I might just listen to soundtracks from other games. Samurai Scanners from Warriors Orochi is one I sometimes have playing when I go on Suijin:
Anything from the Payday 2 soundtrack, or mainly Drifting and Wild One.

Here's a few songs that just crossed my mind. The title of the second song is how I kinda feel about Spies. :P
I do this all the time, but I usually turn down the music enough so I don't miss certain in-game sounds, like Dead Ringers and such. Lately, it's been Adagio For Strings from the Rise of the Triad 2013 soundtrack:
Playing Demoman

Guys, i think that's good idea to put

around the video link so it will be smaller in post
Guys, i think that's good idea to put around the video link so it will be smaller in post
I think that'd be more applicable when posting more than one link.
I remember buying the Box Trot on the night of the Gun Mettle update and strolling around with it for several hours laughing uncontrollably while listening to Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC. I felt like a total badass. I was also drunk at the time so that probably had something to do with it
I'm a Pendulum nut so I usually have them playing for Scout or Soldier..
