I know there was previously a thread on this, but since search is broken (at least for me) I can't find it. Anyway, I want to run TF2 on the highest settings possible (Movie face commands etc) how would I set these (and make it so they start up every time with them?) I'll be sure to get this thread closed as soon as I get a good answer, thanks.
Also, native resolution is 1680x1050 if it's needed.
The best I've found is at http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=987466 The actual config's a bit hard to find, but it's over here: http://www.dieall.de/da2008/index.php?mod=articles&action=view&id=60&page=3
Also, I'd suggest http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/71675 to fix a bug with the detailed faces.
I think I installed the wrong thing, now my main menu UI is fucked up.
All you have to do to search is enter the URL of the forum you want to search into the "Search within a Domain" bar at http://www.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=en
If you want to check your framerate after this, you might want to bind a key to "cl_showfps 2". net_graph gives you more info, but it's really obtrusive. Lastly, if you're able to run it on this high of graphical settings, the multicore stuff isn't going to do much, TF2 isn't really that CPU bound. The only place it really helps is when you're running loads of bots.

Oh, disable the QLC_InGameMenu line in the MainConfig. It doesn't play well with the new UI.
Im supposed to download the movie config right? Not the FPS one.

I'm trying to use this, it's really confusing.
This should be in a sticky.

Okay, everything seems to be working but all of my sounds are delayed by a fraction of a second, anyone know what could be causing this? Also, my decal limit is set at one even though I set it really high in the multiplayer options.

Jack's config fixed my sound and made TF2 look fucking great, thanks

Set any of the sound options to their defaults and keep testing it. I think it was "snd_mixahead" that does that, mess around with it's number. Not sure about the decals, mess around with that console command too.

Yeah, make a file with all the commands in it named "autoexec.cfg" in the cfg folder.
Why does my tf2 look not changed :o
I have a question, is there a way to improve tf2's motion blur? I saw some commands in Jack Config that seemed to affect motion blur and I was just wondering because good motion blur can make a game look extremely smooth

I think he's using it, but he may have added it in using sony vegas or something
