Hello there.
I originally kept three builds of Team Fortress 2 on my computer; the original Orange Box version, that I still have, the WAR! update and the current version.
Unfortunately, I formatted the partition but I forgot to backup the WAR! Update build I had, only the Orange Box version.
I searched during a loooong time some link to download it again; besides the fact that I now know the WAR! update was the 1.0.7.6 version, I don't have anything left.
I was interested in the use of DepotDownloader but I have no idea about how to use it to retrieve the version I want. The last time I used it, I tried to download the version 0 but it downloaded the latest version instead. I think the SteamPipe update broke DepotDownloader or something?
And now I'm stuck with some old unreadable demos.
Does anyone know if DepotDownloader still work and/or how to use it to download the WAR! Update build? Thank you.
EDIT: Alright, after looking deeper into it I get how DepotDownloader works and the latest version works fine. However, I need to get a manifest file.
I headed to SteamDB but the oldest file it seems to find is the SteamPipe's update, which seems I can download any version between 2013 and now I guess.
But is there any way that the older versions are still accessible then?
EDIT2: I managed to get the Mac update version (1.0.9.5), which is close enough. As such, this is "barely" solved.
