After weeks of struggling with the shitty mods' incessant deletion of my thread at the Steam Community, I'm now posting it here instead...
TF2DJ - Current version: v1.076 - Updated October 1st 2011
TF2DJ is a DJ for Source-powered games, originally developed for use with Team Fortress 2, which was what gave its name. Since the Hatless Update in April 2011, the ability to send audio from a file to most servers* in Source-powered games was removed, although the quality of the voice chat was (supposedly) improved due to the use of the SILK codec, which is what Skype uses.
The number one advantage of using TF2DJ is that you can micspam on any server. Instead of traditionally minimizing just to switch songs, or playing the game in windowed mode, TF2DJ makes it dead easy to switch songs by the press of a couple of buttons, fullscreen included.
*servers could choose to use the old codec and have the ability to send audio from file like before the update.

Features:
- Micspam in high quality on any server, independent of voice_inputfromfile.
- Supports Source-based games like Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Source.
- Start-screen that lets you start your game fullscreen/windowed with a given resolution.
- Adjusts priority and FPS to give you the best playback and most responsive HUD while using the least CPU.
- Custom folders for locating audio files; no single folder with all the audio mashed together.
- Draggable sidebar HUD that makes it very easy to quickly switch songs. Can be hidden and used while hidden!
- Support for the standard audio formats that Windows Media Player supports.
- Custom controls that can be modified in the INI file, for all you laptop users.
- Option to randomize the order of your micspam (per folder).
- Scrollbar in the HUD. Oh yeah.
I originally developed this program during the end of April, but recently updated it again. You can download TF2DJ from this page. Enjoy!
Oh damn, this looks awesome.
What pisses me off is that SPUF had all of these threads deleted.
Any plans for a Mac port?
Any plans for a Mac port?
For now, nope. Sorry. I'll look into it.
OH God, this eez good.

Alright, didn't expect one. I think there's a console command to manually micspam, but I'm not sure if the Hatless Update broke it.
Do the files still need to be in 11025 and in mono, 16-bit .wav?
EDIT: Disregard that, after watching the vid reading thoroughly this time, apparently not.
Do others hear the music in the same quality as you do? No more staticy blurry ear rape?
Whoa! I just noticed I remember you from GMC. I used to love your tutorials and scripts, back when I used the Game Maker.
Anyway, awesome work with this. I'm definitely going to give it a try.
Funny, i just saw OP just comment on one of my videos. Anyway, looks great.

You can even hear so in the video when I play back the demo. I hope Valve one day will fix this quality issue...

Ah, I see.
Disappointing, but I'll use it nonetheless.
Looks like a huge improvement from HLDJ.
Will it also be compatible with more source games in the future?
Does it avoid the problem where you begin transmitting your voice/music to others but it cuts dead 0.2ms in?
Will it also be compatible with more source games in the future?
As long as they have a Steam Store page, yes.
You could just use Virtual Audio Cable and have both Music and In Game Sound
That's not a solution I would prefer (at least to myself). It's also annoying to switch songs.
Does it avoid the problem where you begin transmitting your voice/music to others but it cuts dead 0.2ms in?
I think I get what you mean. Like, you usually have to wait half a second after the micspam has stopped playing, and then you can stop transmitting. Nope, it doesn't. That's more a question of lag. Also, women.

No, I'm talking about when you start talking and you can hear yourself in the loopback for a very short time then poof, nothing
No, I'm talking about when you start talking and you can hear yourself in the loopback for a very short time then poof, nothing
Not a problem I've encountered, but nope, doesn't happen. Breasts.
Do you have to keep the transmit button down for anyone to hear it?
I was just wondering since there is no clear indicaiton.
Do you have to keep the transmit button down for anyone to hear it?
I was just wondering since there is no clear indicaiton.
Just press it once.
I'm assuming this won't work for people who have computer's that don't have the option to use Stereo Mix?
I'm assuming this won't work for people who have computer's that don't have the option to use Stereo Mix?
Yes, although most sound drivers have it nowadays. If you don't have it, then just update your drivers and check again. Alternatively, you can (EDIT: not) fiddle around with Virtual Audio Cable, which takes some more time to set up.
Why does it raise my sound to the max and mute everything when I play?
Why does it raise my sound to the max and mute everything when I play?
TF2DJ mutes the in-game sounds, play your selected audio, and start transmitting sound, when you press 0. That is why.
I love it. It's fantastic!
I love it. It's fantastic!
Thanks. ^_^
TF2DJ mutes the in-game sounds, play your selected audio, and start transmitting sound, when you press 0. That is why.
Can you hear people's voices or does that count as in-game sounds? I don't want to have people muted who are yelling at me to stop when I don't realize it.
Can you hear people's voices or does that count as in-game sounds? I don't want to have people muted who are yelling at me to stop when I don't realize it.
They count as in-game sounds, yes. Hopefully, they'll notify you using the chat, heh.
It works, but it's annoying that the volume is so quiet. Hard to hear what i spam.
Your audio files must be quiet.
Of course, i tried to make my sound quality good with HLSS/HLDJ. Also, is the game volume and everything supposed to be quiet when i press Num 0? When i press the button again then the sound file plays, but my name is not even on the screen, same with the speech bubble.
You don't need to convert your audio using HLDJ O_o. In fact, I'd recommend that you don't.
The problem with playback that you're having can be solved using the "reset state" key, which is 7 on the numpad by default. Try playing around with that.
I don't use the HLDJ converter, i use Goldwave. Also, the reset key still wont work that much. It happens very often (pretty much all the time) that the in-game sound somehow gets repeated and spammed when i press Num 0. So if i walk around then the sound steps gets looped and gets louder and louder. I think something is wrong.
When i try to spam something, the sound also loops and stops and loops repeatingly.
You still shouldn't convert the audio.
Also, that's a weird problem you're encountering. Restart TF2DJ (or maybe your computer, if that even helps) and then set its program priority to High.
Are you holding 0 down? Cause you just need to press it once.
I only press 0 once.
Now when i run it with High priority, the speech bubble appears and the song appears. However, is the in-game sound supposed to be muted when playing?
[editline]4th June 2011[/editline]
Oh, it is. Well then, it seems to work.
[editline]4th June 2011[/editline]
Damn, it's starting to glitch out again.
Then I dunno how to fix it. Maybe set the priority of your game to something lower. ._.
And yes, the in-game sound is supposed to be muted when playing.
so you wont be able to hear the game sounds while micspamming or what?
