Hey everybody, I just downloaded version 0 (first version uploaded to steam servers) of tf2.
Apparently when valve updates tf2, they don't delete any old versions from their servers.
I couldn't get it to load any maps without crashing. (pretty much everything crashed it.)
I will be uploading some unused files, you can make requests too, I'll do what I can.
The program I used is called DepotDownloader ([url]https://bitbucket.org/VoiDeD/steamre/downloads[/url])

Not sure, but it's the first on the steam servers.
So, do you have access to the GCF's and all that fun stuff?

I can't quite get the program to down the version I want, how would I go about getting version 0?
Is the included lightwarp different from the one that shipped with V1? Extract it and install it over the current version as a mod to test this.
I'd love to have an [i]OFFICIAL[/i] beta lightwarp. Others have come close, but this would be the real deal.

Any plans on listing content from iterative versions between V0 and V1? Content added (and subsequently removed) before the first beta period would be fascinating to see.

Official textures for grenades, classic pipebombs, dynamite, lead pipe, nailgun and tranq gun, all reclaimed from V0.

I think, tranquilizer gun for Spy would be great in TF2 now. And grenades too, if they would be secondary weapons.
How would you go about using the depotdownloader?
Regardless of which commandline args i specify, it gives me "steam3 timed out" and "access denied" on every depot except HL1 low violence gibs

I've seen a Gamebanana mod that replaced the pill nades with the simular looking ones in the above picture. I like to see where this is heading.
Now to figure out how to use it. :v:
Edit: But really, The lightwarps would be nice to see (materials/models/player/pyro/? I don't know how the file setup is for lightwarps on that version, so it may differ), seeing as the vtf version may not be compatible with our current TF2, one can easily convert it to modern formats.
edit2: okay got it working, but it's the latest version. I'll cancel and wait for things to pop up in this here thread.
