Just letting you know that the yearly International TF2 LAN starts on Friday (26th of August)
i58 is the next installment of the Insomnia Gaming LAN series where the best competitive Team Fortress 2 teams from around the globe compete for the title of Worldwide Champions.
This year's notable participants include European leaders Crowns, Full Tilt, XENEX and Comfortably Spanked, as well as the reappearance of the Australian community with Jasmine Tea, and obviously, two time champions (although their roster has significantly changed), the Americans of Froyotech.
The event will take place
- Starting Friday August 26th with group stages,
- Through Saturday with playoffs up to semi-finals,
- And ending on Sunday 28th, with the consolation finals and grand finals.
Changes from throughout the year to the competitive gamemode of 6v6 will also be part of this I-series' gameplay, such as the addition of Phi's cp_reckoner_b3 and also updated or pro version of maps, such as cp_snakewater_u13, koth_product_rc8 and cp_granary_pro_rc4, but most importantly the in-game integration of Coaches (through CompCtrl).
Thanks to sponsors scrap.tf, powered by community-famous Geel, and Toshiba's OCZ, the prize pool for this event has reached £8,500 so far.
This is looking to be the last monumental TF2 lan, with more and more players being tempted away by Overwatch, so be sure to check it out.
Peace
Well up for it. Nerding right out.
Wish I was good enough to go. Would even just go for a laugh, but sadly I have to work Saturday and Sunday. Tomorrow I'll be at my uni library ignoring my dissertation and watching this :)
Starts at 5pm (40 mins).

Do you expect much from him at this LAN?
Do you expect much from him at this LAN?
he's really good at holding his own and pulling plays from nothing but I don't expect his team to place very high but it would be awesome if they did!
now lets see if b4nny can play without a headset or keyboard
We're finally starting!
First match is Froyo - Full tilt
They're playing online because the LAN server is going badly
Has anything happened yet?
I just got home.

Ooh Jasmine Tea beat Xenex
they've been in a 30 min break, there were like 5k people watching and now there's below 1k.

Nice, interesting to see the Aussies can match up against Eu teams, although it's only groups.
froyo v. jasmine - QUITE GOOD
holy fuck what a game. this is why i love tf2
Such a good game. Jasmine's style makes it so interesting.
To help with the delay, have a yellow shirt man from the background

Games today have been awesome.
Froyo gets spanked by Crown, then spanks Crowns, then gets edged out by Crowns.
Jasmine vs Full Tilt right now. Lost the first map but fighting back now.
Haven't even watched the football

Crowns win!
Awesome match and a brilliant tournament from start to finish (minus some lengthy boring waits between coverage).
I only saw Muma hit 1 or 2 rollouts correctly, I wonder how much that effected their overall position. Especially as Alle and Spudd were on point towards the end of the tournament.
