• FacePoser - LIPSinc Speech API

This is for those poor bastards who use the Half-Life FacePoser and have to manually insert phonemes into their wav, FacePoser has a choice between two Speech APIs; Microsoft Speech API and LIPSinc Speech API. Valve use the latter of the two, But we can only use the former (Even then, It doesn't work). However, If you have a folder called "LIPSinc_data" in your bin folder (well inside a bin folder in the bin folder) you can use the LIPSinc Speech API, This folder contains .dat files that probably contain voice data and other stuff so that FacePoser can correctly extract phonemes, While people say you can't use the API that Valve uses This is in a gray area since the company that provided the LIPSinc TalkBack SDK have since disappeared from the face of the Earth (their website now hosts lipstick ;p) Though I won't risk uploading the files, I will say that Valve used it during the DEVELOPMENT of HL2.... If you don't get that then there's no helping you.
I thought they still existed but had changed names. A few years ago someone updated the the lipsync tool to use Microsoft Speech API version 5.4 (and actually work again) but that's probably long since superceeded too.
