With the blog post on the polycount winners on the tf2 site, the devs said they were going to muck about and add some attributes to the packs.
Anyone have any speculation to what they could do with it?
For instance with the Tank Buster Pack, there's a new buff banner-esqe item, what could they do with that?
I'm thinking the Batallion's Backup will give a movement speed increase and reload speed increase and have a faster Rage generation than the buff banner.
For the Black Box I'm thinking one of three things:
1) Less Damage, More Splash
2) More Damage to buildings, slower rocket travel
3) More damage, any type of disadvantage
Another is for the Holy Mackerel, I think it'll cause a Jarate effect on hit, do less damage, and swing faster.
Those are my ideas. I really wonder what the Eternal Reward will do. The Knife is the Spy's main tool. Whatever effect they put on it will be game impacting, unless it's something stupid like damage for swing speed.

I'm tired of polycount speculation.
This pack should have been out weeks ago.
lol evil, double post.
id think the eternal reward should give less max health at the start, and gives more max health per backstab.
I.E the eyedagger.
Tank buster
15% slower movespeed.
+30% damage vs buildings

Considering how the Spy plays that would be an upgrade basically. Unless you get caught on the way, but either way with or without the penalty you're dead.
Eternal Reward should be able to backstab while disguised and immediately steal your victim's disguise after a stab at the cost of no primary weapon/sapper.
I say that the Spy should get Larate for his knife replacement. Real fast, and can randomly crit, but backstabs are only mini-crits.

That would be the ultimate weapon. No one would know the wiser.
Sounds like too much of a disadvantage. Also it should instantly remove the enemies dead body.

Primary, maybe. Leave the sapper out of this, please. I wouldn't use it if it took the Sapper away considering the main time I deploy myself as a Spy is to take out Engineer nests and then assassinate individuals.

The Sapper and this Eternal Reward are situational weapons. If there's an Engineer setting up a base, you equip the Sapper. If you have to clean out an enemy team, you equip the Eternal Reward.

Except it's pretty useless with the screaming "UGAAAAAAGGHHH" from the critical death, a disadvantage the normal knife has. It's no better than cloaking and quickly manually disguising, even then your disguise is still not very believable. Disguises aren't meant to deceive as much as distract. Really the Eternal Reward you suggest only penalizes. Any real Spy player wouldn't use it at all. It really just seems like a crutch for new players. Honestly I can't imagine this helping with a team sweep at all.
Personally the Gas Man Pyro Pack and the Croc'o Style Sniper Pack interests me the most.
For the Pyro pack, I'm thinking the degreaser will have a farther reach, but I don't know what the downside would be for that. The Powerpack looks interesting, maybe since its so heavy you move slower but do more damage like the skullcutter...
The sniper pack really interests me. I'm thinking the Sydney Sleeper will induce a stun and a less damage than a sniper rifle. The shield and Bushwacka I don't have a clue what to think...
my idea for the ER seems likley, as it is.. well, an eternal reward V:v:V
You do know she thought of the name herself? And Valve rarely take player-submitted stats into account.
I bet VALVe is going to make the Eternal Reward like this:
+ On hit: Victim bleeds for X seconds
-Y% Damage on hit.
If they do, this is going to suck dicks.
:colbert:
The Scout's melee will probably be
+ On hit, Moisture for X seconds
-X% damage on hit
every new meele weapon will have some stupid effect, knife for sniper - bleed, knife for solider - bleed, pyro's "hammer" - brain damage, scout's mackerel - poison. To be honest they'd better replace bleed effect with poison, that would do more sense.

And they change the names often enough.
I was thinking of some sort of timed death for the Eternal Reward. You backstab somebody and after 10 seconds they instantly die, unless they get healed for 1 second by a Medic or Dispenser. Some little icon should appear over the health bar to signify that you've been stabbed. Each successful kill with this rewards you 10 health and 25% of your cloak bar.
It's a dumb idea and probably overpowered, but I think it would be a cool concept to toy with.
Well, I just hope they don't fuck up the new revolver because it looks beautiful and I want to use it. As for the knife, if they make it interesting I won't hesitate to use it, too.
The other packs that can get interesting stats could be for Pyro and Sniper.
The Scout's melee will probably be

Scout's melee should be
- 25/50% slower hit speed
+ Slows players on hit
(as suggested by somebody in another thread)
(and of course with epic wet fish sound effects and watery particles every time it's drawn, and every time a hit connects)

It's a reference to aladdin, as far as I know...

He did backstab him, after all.

I am loving that Jafar is "disguised" :v:
I would like the idea of a knife that disguises you as your victim the instant you kill them, however that sounds very overpowered.
I don't think that removing the Sapper or Revolver would make up for it.
It doesn't make sense that it would remove the Revolver, because then it would be the first unlockable that replaced 2 weapons at the same time, and I hate the idea of it disabling the sapper because that only discourages team work.
If it had something as powerful as making the Spy not drop his disguise when killing an enemy, it would have to come with a major downside as well.
Perhaps reduced movement speed, or perhaps that it has to hover over the enemies back for 1 or 2 seconds before it can stab.
I personally like the idea of it having to hover in the "ready to backstab" animation for 1 or 2 seconds, along with the removal of "death screams" from enemies when they die.
If these were the stats:
Eternal reward:
+ Disguise as your victim on kill.
+ No death scream from victim.
- Backstabs have to be charged.
+ We could backstab Engineers guarded by two sentries.
+ We could kill a medic without alerting his patient.
+ We could kill someone behind a teammate without alerting the enemy in front.
- We would have to be aligned with the enemies backs for a short while before stabbing.
- We are much more vulnerable when detected.
- No chain-stabs.
- No face-stabs.

also should add
-Unable to disguise for 10 seconds on failed backstab

I like those stats, only I think you shouldn't have to be facing the back to charge it.
Hold the button to charge up a stab, that way if you're truly skilled you can time it just right to do a quick backstab-switcheroo, but are gambling on the chance that something will not go wrong(as it usually does). Everything else, even from the back, is just a regular weakstab.
Here's some fast idea...
The Sidney Sleeper (Sniper's rifle unlock) :
+ 30% Chance to slow an ennemy for 3s on hit
- Mini-Crits on Headshot, Full-Crits only at 100%
Darwin's Danger Shield (Razorback replacement) :
+ Only break on the second hit
+ Faster movement under-water
- Don't stun the Spy

That would also be cool, I'm not sure if that would perhaps be overpowered though... People already go crazy about facestabs, imagine the rage if people could start doing face-stabs on demand.
Perhaps if it "drops disguise on failed stab".
THEN it would be really risky.
Tank buster

no direct hit is already strong against buildings
