You've probably heard of our regular 72hr Contests, where we try to make a map for the game within three days. You'll probably recognise some of the results - Probed, Byre, Highpass, and Overgrown, for example. This time we're doing something different, and we'd like to get everyone else involved too! For more information, see the [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iITSFW55H4g"]video here[/URL] by our very own UEAKCrash. We're running a 72 Hour Team Fortress 2 Jam! Rather than a competitive thing, we're going to spend 72 hours making things for Team Fortress 2, and we want as many people from other communities as possible to get involved. You can make or do whatever you want - models, maps, fanfiction, HUDs, SFM videos, fragvids, wierd fanfiction - It just has to be related to TF2. Also, you have to do it within 72 hours. We think this is a great opportunity to build connections between communities - If you want to make models for maps, or get a backdrop made for your video, or a custom skin, now is a great time to talk about it. We've also found its a great place to experiment, to collaborate, and to build new skills. Also, it's a lot of fun! The jam starts at 6pm GMT on Friday the 29th January, and we'd love to see you come along and get involved. I would really like to make a map but hammer is so hard to get used to. The tutorials are good and all but after I'm done watching I feel like I just forget everything I learned

Take risks, try out something crazy. Maybe it'll be the next big thing, maybe it won't be. All you miss is a weekend, thats nothing. You do it because it's fun, it's exciting and because it's 6 levels of crazy. You do it to push yourself to try new things, break things, learn things. You don't do it for the prizes.

Also the last 72 hour contest had a ton of entries (I don't remember the exact number, but I think it was above 50) and honestly it was impossible to play test all the maps. I know I only got to play test less then half of them which was really too bad. I know that during the last contest at least one person posted on the forum that they were making a map just because they wanted one of the games I had donated as a prize and if no prizes cuts down on the entries from people who don't really care about the conest that much but are doing it because they want a prize I think that's a good thing. I still think we'll get some high quality entries.

I think it was like 67 maps made during the last event. That's insane! But we have been trying to come up with a few smaller contest ideas to get more of those prizes you've donated out the door!

I'm gonna make some breakable props. Always wanted to.
